Should the multiplayer ranking system by like Halo 3, were you unlock armour and have it at the rank it is unlocked at. Or like Reach, were you unlock armour and then have to earn the credits to buy/purchase/acquire it.
Reach has no ranking system outside of Arena. Playing Firefight for 4 hours and boosting “credits” is not a ranking system.
A piece of advice: whenever you give this community two options to choose from, and one of those options is Reach, they will always choose the other option.
If you want legitimately unbiased responses on this matter, I suggest you look elsewhere.
Halo 3, there should be an achievement for getting a 50.

Thats not true at all. For instance; Halo Reach easily has a much better netcode than Halo 3. For instance; the no-bloom DMR is a far better weapon than Halo 3’s bullet-spread BR.
The fact of the matter is that Reach as a whole is a worse game than every other Halo that came before it. Thus; for 95% of things brought up, Halo reach is worse.
I anxiously await your argument as to how Reach is not the worst game in the series (not including Halo Wars).
Halo 3’s. With halo 4 I have no doubt if they bring back real ranked playlists with visible trueskill they will have in-game filters to ban cheaters/exploiters. People keep thinking if they brought back halo 3’s it would be the same cheaters and all. Wrong. They could easily monitor and put in automated systems with the new Halo 4 to make it enjoyable and fun again.
Halo 3’s ranking system was pure genius. None of that progressive crap. You had to be the best of the best to get 50 before the cheating and deranking came into play. I want that back, true skill based playlists where if you just aren’t good enough to rank up then tough. I like the segregation of skill and players. It puts players in their place where they belong so they can face players of equal or close skill. It’s not about being fair or everyone getting the same thing. It should never be like that. It was so satisfying in halo 3 to rank up because it was not something every player could achieve.
We had a progressive rank system in a game called derp reach. All it showed me was how easy total decimation of opponents can be with a lax trueskill where players with a skill of 0 can face lvl 50 and vice versa. Unless everyone wants a joke of a game again then Halo 2/3 ranking system is the way to go.
