I think Halo campaigns are better without them, but do you think Halo could use boss some fights?
Halo 1, 2, and 3 had boss fights to an extent. I am not really sure what happened in Reach. I would like the possibility of at least one really hard character to defeat at the end of the game. My favorite “boss” was definitely the brute chief at the end of Halo 2
Hopefully they will be harder to defeat then in Halo 2 and 3.

Halo CE had NO boss fights…
Halo 2 had them
And 343 guilty spark in halo 3.
OT: Yes. Id like boss fights.
I guess. I don’t really care too much.
Also, there was no “boss fight” in Halo 1 and in Halo 3 I don’t even consider guilty spark to be a boss fight.
Tartarus and the Sanghelli Heretic in Halo 2 were fun additions so I don’t see why not. As long as they don’t “try too hard” if you get what I mean…
I always considered Scarabs bosses
Especially at the end of halo 3…those two scarabs you have to face…
I hope there are some in Halo 4. Maybe make it to where you have to hit them in certain areas like a Scarab
I’d love to see something similar to Sesamee, Regret and Tartaurus from Halo 2.
They made the campaign so much more replayable and fun.

I believe you had to fight guilty spark in Halo CE, did you not?

No… You didn’t.
Bosses would be nice. That’s why I liked Halo 2 more than Halo 3. Because it wasn’t just shooting, throwing grenades and killing the same enemies throughout the whole game. There were distinctive enemies, for example the Brute Chief, or the Heretic.
As for the final boss fight for Halo 3… What final boss fight? Guilty spark? Please. That thing with it’s flashlight… I was really hoping that at the end of Halo 3 you’d fight the Gravemind, but alas…
Boss fights would be nice, but then people will just complain like how they did after Halo 2. They’ll just say “Oh, boss fights are soooo not Halo”. Then they’ll make threads, saying how Halo is going downhill, and how Halo is losing their core fan-base. Same junk, different day.

My apologies!
Halo boss battles are truly absurd.
H2’s were basically damage sponges. Other than the Tartarus battle, the others were a pain in the -Yoink-:
Heretic leader: not much cover, you’re in danger from the start and there’s nowhere to go to without losing your shield other than sword flying on 1 of them and hiding under a ramp.
Regret: Those freaking Grunts…
H2 also had boss encounters, which were done better:
-Cairo Station hangars Ultras and a Goldie as the boss wave
-Cairo Station bomb room Elites. Kill a certain dual wielder (or a certain number of Elites) and all the Elites swarm on your position. Hiding in the elevator = bad idea. Fortunately, there’s a lot of advantages you have in this fight:
- Crate climbing. Worst thing to do to an Elite is to make them climb during combat.
- A single small crate.
- Your positioning dictates Elite movement.
- A marine distraction.
-Metropolis Scarab and crew
As for H3, that’s not a boss battle. That’s a massively scripted encounter that cannot be bypassed. I tested the following and none of them worked:
-swording Spark
-bypassing Spark before he gets to fire his second shot
-bypassing Spark after Johnson shoots him
Recently, I got to play as a Sentinel by downloading a modded game save. It is impossible to defeat him without Johnson shooting him first.
H3 only had 1 boss type encounter: the Hunters in the third tower. Brute Chieftains are not boss encounters. Nor are War Chieftains.
In conclusion, bosses should not always have specific means to be killed, should not take a whopping amount of damage, and should not be excessively scripted. If anything, bosses should be limited to encounters, as they are more engaging.
CE had Goldies. Those were much more fun to fight.
Not really.

As satisfying as it was to punch a prophet in the face repeatedly my favourite “boss” fights were the Scarabs littered throughout Halo 3 because they were sandbox toys. And I could toy with them, assaulting them in different ways including the ever fun boarding them on a mongoose/'hog/chopper or just shoot/grenade the brain from the right angle when I’m not in the mood. I hope Halo 4 has encounters like that rather than spamming instant kill enemies like Reach does with all the fuel rod users.
I’d love to see boss fights. Especially the Dark Souls 20-times-bigger-than-you bosses. If thought out well enough, it could work really good in a shooter, and boss fights are something that seem to be going downhill in modern games.
something halo 2 did well that halo 4 should definitely consider
I’d like to see Scarabs return, and would also like to see a ‘Super Hunter’. As Hunters are just worm things, why not bind together into a gigantic hulk with a hyper-powerful assault beam. It would be fun!
I think…
Yes both Halo 2 and 3 did so lets keep it going with Halo 4.
Boss fights? ehhh… not my favorite thing, but its alright. Now a music themed battle like the one in halo 2 Breaking Benjamin? I’d pay $120 dollars for a game that includes that…
