As it seems the multiplayer of Halo 4 is using CoD as a model for its design. I am wondering if all you Halo fans have been hating all the other Halo games because they were not like CoD, if so then you probably are not a Halo fan. Halo Reach multiplayer is where we saw the first sign of betrayal to the Halo formula and is also why I still play Halo 3 for multiplayer. But now we also see that weapons and gear will be rewarded to those who play the most which will make the casual gamer obsolete. If i wanted to play a CoD type game I would play CoD. So what is everyone else’s feel on this topic?
I guess all I can hope for at this point is that the Halo 3 multiplayer servers stay online for years to come until someone gets the bright idea to make a good game again.
Halo 4 should be like Halo 4. End of discussion.
This has REALLY been said before (to the point where the Halo 4/CoD topic is beaten to death), but have no fear. I for one don’t think the game needs additions like custom loadouts and killstreak ordinance drops, but Halo is far enough from Call of Duty gameplay-wise, that it should still play like the Halo we know and love (especially because 343i is bringing back more skilled play with the upping of movement and strafe speed and the reduction or removal of bloom). Its core gameplay actually seems to resemble Halo 2’s and 3’s (with dashes of Reach here and there) more than it resembles shudder Call of Duty.
I wouldn’t worry too much. 343 has stressed a commitment to balance, and I’m sure that no earned weapons will be upgrades over previous ones (more of ‘sidegrade’ weapons, with their own advantages and drawbacks)
Do yourself a favor, and buy this game. Calling it Call of Duty when numerous people who have played it say it “feels like Halo”, and there’s a growing mountain of gameplay evidence that looks remarkably like past Halo games, just isn’t fair. Give it a chance, and I think you’ll be happy with the results.
Hey man, I don’t know about you… but that Black Ops 2 is rippin off Halo pretty hardcore with the future stuff
so u kno
I go with the third option of “None of the above”. I want Halo 4 to be its own game in its own way. Sure, I’m fine with it taking elements of other games, and putting their own spin on it.
I think it needs to be like pokemon
I’m a bit disappointed in the direction 343 have gone with Halo 4, but at the same time I’m not surprised at all; Call of Duty is top dog on the consoles and military shooters are flavour of the year. Halo 4 looks like it’s desperately trying to grab attention in its old age. It’s flashy, really flashy. Gamers who have turned their head to look in Halo 4’s direction will be rewarded with its spine-less attempt to say “Look! I’m not too different from those other games you play! Come play me!”.
Oh, and I think Halo 4 should be more like CE, but that’ll never happen as long as a big corporation is behind it.
