Should H6 Have ADS Like In H5, or return like H3?

Reason I am asking this is because with the animation that is in Halo 5, I feel that it throws me off from my shots and somewhat distracts me. Personally after playing some Warzone Assault I managed to be the Classic BR, in which I equipped and instantly noticed that the animation was no longer there and that I was able to land my shots better than before.

Do you tink 343i should remove the animation from the next game or allow us to toggle it so that we dont see it anymore? Personally I like the older style ADS versus the newer version of it.

What are your guys thoughts?

yes it should

Depends on the weapon and how its executed, though in general I think the classic scope is superior.

Weapon Scopes that try to emulate the old scopes (Longshot, Sentinel, etc.) are generally just inferior. Sentinel in particular because it has some strange glare effects going on half the time.

I also find it a bit nonsensical on some weapons. Take the Needler. Although it looks cool…you sacrifice your radar for a magnification that is barely even noticeable.

Prefer the old way. As you said, I just enjoy firing with the classic BR more than I do with the new one. ADS just doesn’t appeal to me, Halo really didn’t need it, and I’m yet to feel any kind of benefit.

But you get that extended rr. That’s clutch sometimes. Have you seen how silly Spartans look when on Smart Scope with the needler? Lol.

I like smart scope. It feels more fluid to me, even if it isn’t more fluid in practice. I hope it’s here to stay.

I honestly don’t understand the need for the new aiming to be honest. I find the older zooming much easier and more fluid to switch between zooming so much that I pretty much use the classic BR all of the time, even for longer distances. I can just see better, a big open circle. It’s brilliant.

Perhaps it would suit certain weapons but for precision weapons I really don’t like it, perhaps for stuff like the plasma caster and maybe the promethean weapons since they’re advanced. Even if you’re playing as a Spartan, it just doesn’t feel right for the humans.

The only place I think it kind of feels more fluid is on CQC weapons or small-arms like the Magnum.

On Rifle’s it’s just unnecessarily obstructive and all the glare, sway, etc. effects are awkward.

Also that’s pretty neat, I didn’t know the Needler scope even had a world-model.

Semi-Off-Topic I don’t get why the visuals are a downgrade. Halo 2 Anniversary has very detailed scopes, while the Classic BR is just the ancient Halo 2 scope.

I don’t particularly like having my view obstructed when I zoom in.

For all the lore nerds, it’s technically against canon that we can see our guns. Smart link comes from a camera from the “barrel of the gun”, so to speak.

I like Smart-scope. Its fluid, well integrated, and fits perfectly in Halo.

I’m fine with it and it makes it seem more futuristic. But I don’t get how every gun somehow just got a holographic aim, like humans, covenant, and Prometheans all had the same idea at the exact same time.

thats older suits, the spartan4’s suits create a holographic depiction.

As long as fully-scoped weapons don’t block your entire screen like the DMR did in the beta, I don’t mind it staying. It’s nice being able to use autos outside of a fixed range for once. Before it just seemed like there was no difference in effective range between any of them and now it’s actually noticeable.

I think for weapons that actually have scopes it should go back to that Halo 3 way but for none scoped weapon I would like them to keep the the smart link zoom in.

That is why it’s called smart scope. The visor/armor links with the weapons so to speak.

Did you know that Smart link was actually an explanation of Halo’s zoom mechanics, not the other way around? They just changed it for the sake of changing it.

I prefer the old way.

I don’t really have a problem with the ADS in Halo 5 so wouldn’t mind it returning in Halo 6.

Pretty much… that is 343s way… what can we change just because we want to change stuff

Return to the way it was

I use bumper jumper so my ads button is left stick on a toggle, just like every other halo game
