Should H5 weapon variants return to a lesser degree?

So man do these forge maps look crazy! It made me think of the prison break back in CE.

How cool would it be to be a set of captured Spartans using suppressed weaponry stolen from the gaurds armory to fight your way out of the oni prison and out to safety!?

So with that thought in mind, what guns had suppression again? Ah yes! The SMG and the pistol I believe. Can’t recall it’s name.

Now just putting in a suppressed SMG, BR and pistol should be enough with weapon melding a core thing now.

I’d also like the return of the multicolored fuel rod canons. Absolute madness to use.

What other nutty H5 of previous version of guns do you feel DESERVE to come back into halos custom sandbox?

Yes. But only the ones with truly unique/interesting traits (Void’s Tear, White Scar, Ad Victoriam, Prophet’s Bane, Scales of Soirapt, etc).

I do think they should return, being one of the ideas that Halo 5 got near-perfect.

With Halo Infinite’s sandbox design philosophies in mind, returning useful and specific H5 weapon variants would be a great idea.

Why stop there?

My thoughts exactly. Specific weapons can help design an overall feel. Like look the H5 wasn’t a lot of people’s favorites but it’d make a great shotgun to use in a “Doom” themed map.

Because some variants were just “Carbine, but it shoots faster” or “AR but it does more damage”. I think variants should be a little more remarkable.

From the Forge leak videos we have seen that you can combine weapon but I haven’t seen anything about firing rates or reload times etc.

So you probably can’t recreate old weapons.

What I want is to use the scriptable equipment pickup and use it to combine the two guns you are holding.

That’s fine but what about the variants that changed bullet type or scope types as well?

I wouldn’t say recreate. What I mean is guns like the SMG and pistol added back in with their silenced variants as well by the devs. This allows us to make similar versions.

My point on the br was an example of how the trio could be fused into other weapons to make silenced versions based on choice of fire rate

Can you give me a an example or two of which guns you’re referring to so we’re on the same page?

SMG using forerunner projectiles/plasma

From what I’ve seen of forge, that may be possible in halo infinite :crossed_fingers:

But a SMG shooting plasma, what makes it any different from a regular plasma rifle?

ROF, and engagement time. And considering for whatever reason 343 has a hate bonnet for anything Bungie era elite, the plasma rifle is a basically gone

They can already do scripts that made weapon do specific unique actions already shown in the Forge leaks. Like using an equipment teleports you back 5 seconds ago. Im sure they can just combine a needle and Commando to make it the Blood of Suban (Needle rifle) back in Halo 5.

That’s one I liked from h5. You could actually customaize you weapons like they talk about in the books. They could honestly take h5 multiplayer and move it to infinite and I’ll be happy. I want to use an oni hog and shoot down a wasp. Let’s do it.

Id love to see some H5 variants in MP. 5 had one of the better weapon sandboxes and having most, if not all weapon variants, come back would be glorious especially in a Halo- Battle Royale.

God I need the plasma rifle like I need air.

Including silencer based weapons? On can hope; but until confirmed I want my silent smg

Maybe two types of scripts

A script where shooting your weapon does not trigger you to be revealed on radar

and another where you can change the sound of your gun to the most… surprised weapon sound in the game? I guess make it sound like the needle (the closest thing I can think of that sounds suppressed)
