Should Forerunners be left alone?

Even though that huge flying sphere is most likely Forerunner, I think that a physical representation of a Forerunner will only make them seem less mythical. When we learned of them we knew about them but didn’t know what they were like, they had this god like presence through Halo. The novels showed us their time but we still never seen them.

If a Forerunner is shown in Halo 4 it will kind of kill the god like presence of the Forerunner for me, I don’t know about anyone else on here. Keeping it as a vocal ever watching presence would be unnerving to the player.

If a Forerunner just shows up in person in Halo 4 I think it will just turn them in to another alien of Halo, and the Forerunners shouldn’t be that in my opinion.

This isn’t leaked matieral I’m about to discuss, but if you don’t want spoilers, do not click on the spoiler tag:

A glimpse of the Halo 4 Script during one of the Halo 4 making of videos gave strong evidence that we will see the Didact in Halo 4. Sorry, dude.

Well, I hope they execute it well. Seeing a Forerunner is a huge thing for the Halo universe.

They are just people. We tend to romanticize about them because they are gone but truthfully they are just as flawed and corrupt as any one else. They are not gods.

If you read the books you’ll realize they were just another race from another time, their story is still somewhat shadowed, I still think the precursors will prove to be a key factor in the trilogy, its the natural progression to me and I can’t wait to see what’s in store

From the covie side, they viewed the forerunners as gods, although the forerunners were destroyed by the flood.

Yeah well the Covenant had -Yoink- reading comprehension so it isn’t a surprise they believed the Forerunners were gods.

Thats the tragedy of Halo’s story line!! Thats what makes this story so amazing.

I think it’s about time they did go more into the Forerunner’s story. Why introduce something into a universe and never expand on it? Yes some of the mystery behind them has been solved, but that’s what has been intended.

Depends on different kind of story. Certain stories are meant to bring healthy speculation for fans. Well Halo has not been about that much.

Anyone who expected Halo to end with speculation, especially after the Legendary Ending of Halo 3, was monumentally mistaken and should feel terrible.

IIRC, there was a description of what forerunners look like in the forerunner saga books. They were very tall humanoids with thin hair, grey-black skin, and flat noses, At some point in primordium chakas says they are ugly, but look human enough.

Depending on what they do with the story in Halo 4, it really seems like the Precursors have (ironically) taken up the mantle of the unknown uber-race.

Add to that, each rate has different colored “fur” (usually on their head and shoulders), and that the number of mutations can heavily affect their appearance.

Well some people hated that part because Halo story should’ve ended nicely there.
Then again, they probably didn’t check Terminals.

Anyway, I understand why some people would rather prefer Forerunner remain mystery, but I disagree. I think this approach is fresher and more unique.

Yes that too.

OT: Forerunners must be exposed.
