Should equipment like in halo 3 return.

I wouldn’t mind at all honestly

No.

yes

No not really. Not something I particularly liked from Halo 3.

Yes and then put Armor/Spartan abilites within that category. Boom, everybody’s happy.

Sure. I liked that equipment added a bit of spice to PvP battles.

I wouldn’t mind them for social. Put them in competitive and you’re getting punched in the face.

From a stand point, it honestly wouldn’t make sense to have throwable abilities when it’s very clear that advancements have gotten far enough that they should be a part of your suits firmware. But if you mean just the abilities themselves, I’m not entirely sure.

Not all equipment would make sense as armor abilities. Such as flares and trip mines

Only some of it, in my opinion. I think the bubble shield would be amazing to have again.

Like anything else, just do it right. No more health regen power ups or kill stopping features like armor lock. Power drain was fine, in my opinion, however in a faster paced game it would be way too effective. Honestly I’d prefer them to put power ups <i>within<i> each map. Example: Halo 4’s map where you could shoot the target and create the short circuit on the platform, damaging or killing whoever was on it. Opening the gate on Halo 2’s Zansibar and the windows and back door on Halo 3’s Standoff are good examples of how the features of the map and your use of them can technically be used as strategic power ups: you now have the power to enter the base with vehicles and through the back door. It would be a creative burden, but it would definitely reduce the spam that comes with some of the pick ups from Halo 3. If someone knew what they were doing with the regen, they could be unstoppable for it’s entire duration.

“Ah yes, let me just throw this very dangerous, large land mine out three feet away from myself where I can accidentally trip it and blow myself up!” I never could get away from them fast enough I swear.

I liked equipment. If they were smart they would have just expanded on equipment pick ups and not these Spartan/armor ablilities.

Bubble shields and throwing the discharge thingies up gravlifts ftw

Hell no!

The idea of Equipment I’m all for. I didn’t have a single friend who disliked equipment. AAs on the other hand…

Equipment was and still is a much better idea then dumb AAs and/or loadouts. AAs would be fine as map pick up items though (obviously not with unlimited use)

Honestly, the possibilities of equipment is nearly endless.

I think they should replace Armour abilities. If you actually have to go and find the equipment like you do with weapons, it’s much fairer than being able to spawn with whatever you want.

The concept of equipment functions better with Halo’s gameplay than Armor / Spartan abilities, as they’re additions to the sandbox and not the player’s moveset (i.e. they don’t have game-wide effects on level design, weapon balance, etc.), so I’d like to see that approach taken again.

The execution would have to be better than Halo 3 of course; it’d be nice to have a clear telegraph for each piece of equipment visible on the player model, for example.

Sure.

I’m not the biggest fan of Armor Abilities in Halo: Reach and Halo 4, but I can tolerate Spartan Abilities in Halo 5: Guardians as they’re at least way more balanced. I’d rather not have either, of course, but single-use pickups (just like power weapons) have always had a place in Halo.

No. No. No. I would take Spartan Abilities/Armor Abilities any day over Halo 3 equipment. While fun in campaign, I hate Halo 3’s equipment system. Though I would be fine with none of these options being implemented in Infinite.
