Should Elites Be Playable Again?

Eh, if they bring Invasion back, then yes. Otherwise, no.

I do agree with this. I loved having the ability to be an Elite in Multiplayer, and Johnson’s line in 3-4 player Campaign co-op at the beginning is hilarious.

There are still diferent hitboxes and places to hit, and in top of that they are only played by a minority. Stick then only in social playlists.

But elites are so stupid. The way they walk and wort just irritates me. I will never trust anyone on my team if they are an elite. Not to mention they probably won’t be as customizable as the spartans and they were much easier to get that headshot in on Reach.
And I’ll be laughing at how ridiculous the elites look when sprinting and dashing with their thrusters. They’ll look so stupid! and when the match ends the elites will give each-other high ‘fours’! Muahaha!
No.
Keep the elites out of my multi-player experience. please!

I just said that the hitboxes were the exact same in H2A, what did you read in my post that said otherwise? In only Halo 3, was there the hole in the neck and the protuding head, but the rest of the games have the EXACT SAME hitboxes. And only a minority has played as them in Reach/3 due to their limitations, I’ve seen a very healthy population of sangheili players in 2/2A, enough so to warrant unrestricted playability in Halo 5.

Please say that again, but in a dialect that isn’t butchered beyond comprehension.

I guess an elite lover like you wouldn’t understand the english language very well.

That wasn’t english in any context, it was complete gibberish that made no point whatsoever, so please, try again.

DO ANY OF THEL’S ELITES PARTICIPATE ALONGSIDE SPARTANS IN WAR GAMES FOR TRAINING?- DETENDEZ

"There are healthy military relationships stretching back to 2553. Classified records associated with the ANVIL initiative indicate a number of very select joint training engagements."

2553 peace with covenant. Well not all. Elites and humans get along.

Anvil was used before halo 4s release to hint associated with forge. Maybe custom invasion game type.
"Very select" could just mean limited game types will allow elites, but if you type very select into Google it shows you a answer to crosswords. Hint is (Very select) the answer is Elite.

Other info from Google(war games)
" Joint Training 2015 “Everyone required to conduct military operations will be trained, under realistic conditions and to…

“Classified records” revealing hints at 343s secret info.

But with what they posted i would be very very surprised if they were not in halo 5.
I’m over thinking this, but I don’t care. Sometimes 343 ads extra hints or uses words that could hint in more than one way. I’m not really good at figuring this stuff out.

What do you think it means? I believe elites will be in h5.

sigh Waypoint really needs to add a “report for strawmaning” button, it has been getting out of hand lately. But since you are simply going to be insulting me for my in-game species preference and attempt to educate me on how Internet grammar is superior to common english grammar (even though I have been tested as being the top 1% intellectualy capable people in the US, but ok), I guess I will properly provide an rebuttal to you’re arguement, even though I shouldn’t, I simply can’t resist my temptation at the moment.

Firstly, you’re arguement can be abridged as “the elites are icky dinosaurs that say stupid things and walk funny. Therefore I hate any of my teammates that play as them”. Albeit, you’re version lacked proper comma/period placement, and you’re sentence structure was rather incoherent, but you’re message was just as childish all the same. You didn’t put down any thoughtful criticism whatsoever (which I see all over this thread anyway), and completely ignored several communities that both use them and adore them (E.G. machinima, lore, clan communities). So if you are going to provide feedback for this franchise, then the least you can do is:

  1. Fix your grammar.

  2. Put thought into you’re posts before releasing nonsensical crap that already plagues this forum.

I really hope that Elites come back into Halo 5 in some form. Custom games would suit me just fine.

I didn’t know elites knew how to ride horses, especially high ones! You accuse me of using straw man, then you continue with an implication of ad hominem by authority.
You then tell me I need to place my commas correctly, but the same can be said to you (Not like it would even matter…) Maybe if you weren’t concerned about how big of a brain your elite skull can carry, you would understand my post better, albeit it was written in a non-serious manner. The part that was of most significance was where I mentioned:

  1. Head shots on elites implying a problem with hitboxes.
  2. Customization might be lackluster like in Reach’s
  3. How are elites going to compete in multi-player when they don’t have SPARTAN abilities. I failed to imply this by mentioning how strange they’d look using spartan abilities, though.
  4. With how the spartans high five’d each other in the beta. what in the world are the elites going to do at the end of the match? (joke about high fours)
I guess it wouldn’t really be hard to score top 1% in anything as there are very few elites in this world such as yourself.
Good night, sir, or in your language: wort wort.

Actually I looked it up. The hitboxes are indeed larger. And they even protrude further. And yes, there I’d still a harder time to pull off a headshot from the back.

Plus, the elites are at least 50% bigger. So if they.are the same, then its blatantly unfair because so much of the character isn’t in a hitbox.

Alright, a (somewhat) proper debate is emerging, although you are still using ad hominem tactics (attacking me based on my species preference in a video game). I have actually not used ad hominem tactics myself (closest was Mark Twain quote, but even then, that was not based on your character, but the display of you’re arguement), and I do believe I used my commas/periods correctly, if I didn’t, then please excuse my lackluster IPad, it has the tendency of making such errors. Now, onto you’re points:

  1. In Halo’s 2(A) and Reach, the sangheili had the same hitboxes as Spartans did, Reach’s was just around 15% larger. It was 3’s that had issues (E.G. hole in the neck, protruding head).

  2. Well, 343 should on that then, shouldn’t they?

  3. Maybe take away “Spartan” from Spartan abilities, and just allow sangheili to do the same. As for the animations, a few tweaks here and there will fix this issue.

  4. I hate those animations anyway, I would prefer it if the Sangheili players had a more honorable/professional pose than a celebrating one.

Wort means go, so I should go go?

The hitboxes are larger in Reach? Well yea, that’s what I have been saying the whole time. In Halo 2(A), they have a hitbox that perfectly mirrors the Spartans, and if they don’t, then why can’t 343 simply fix that issue with Halo 5? It’s incredibly simple, so much so, that it hurts.

If elites are playable in H5, Invasion should definatley return.

Yes, but only if they’re done correctly. And by correctly, I mean symmetrically balanced with Spartans. Reach’s asymmetrical balance between the Spartans and Elites left a lot of invasion matches pretty one sided in favor of the Spartans.

That might be fun. It would be completely canonical as well if the Sangheili were members of the Swords of Sangheilios (the Arbiter’s political faction) training with the Spartans onboard the UNSC Infinity!
