Hey guys so this topic is about do you want to have dual wielding back in halo infinite. feel free to write your opinion if do you want it or not. also feel free to put a ideas for dual wielding. I personally really want dual wielding back in halo because that loved about halo 3.

Dual wielding could be a good addition providing it’s properly balanced.
My issue is no Halo game thus far has managed this and it’s seemingly very difficult to make a weapon viable on its own without rendering it overpowered when coupled with another.
If the devs can’t find that sweet spot we’re liable to get a sandbox full of lacklustre single weapons (e.g. the Halo 2 Magnum) or combos that stand head and shoulders above everything else.
I feel that it would be best if it was added, but with certain plus-minus factors.
Such as Insane recoil, easy overheat, but with a Damage boost. Also I think that more weapons should be able to be dual-wielded such as assault rifles, snipers, BRs, and rocket launchers.
And finally I want us to by some system be able to melee with two separate hands.
Dual wielding as generally implemented in Halo 2 and 3 should never come back. The damage it did to the sandbox was felt long after it was removed and I would argue can still be felt today.
I don’t think its impossible to implement a radically overhauled version of dual wielding, I’m made my own suggestions before, but at the same time I don’t think the effort in getting there would necessarily be worth it.
If your interested my quick suggestions would be as follows:
*All weapons in the sandbox must be both unique and useful when used as standalone weapons. They don’t necessarily have the most lethal killing machines in their own right(though they still need to be a threat), but they do need to have some sort of utility to make up for it, such as the Plasma Pistol overcharge.
*The Dual wielding sandbox can’t be limited to close range only weapons. Weapons need to run the gamut of close, medium, and even long range.
*All combos need to be viable, we shouldn’t be in a position where the only thing you would ever dual wield with say a H2 Needler is another Needler.
*You should still be able to melee when dual wielding, I think giving up grenades is enough of a downside, plus it gives Brute weapons like the Spiker additional utility.
*You should be able to holster your dualies like any other weapon. Dual wielding players shouldn’t be locked into only using dualies and should be free to swap out other weapons and participate in power weapon control.
If you can’t accomplish at least all of that then I don’t think dual wielding should return.
