Should Chief Lose? Medium Read.

Okay so I think the Reclaimer Trilogy campaign should be like the H2-H3 one. Where two leaves yuo at a cliff hanger and three ends the story. Except strech this out over all three games.

H4: You fight the bad guys and seem too be winning, then they start to counter attack. Although in the end you don’t win like you did in CE, instead you defeat the main bad guy(to your belief). And the game ends with you picking up the scraps.

H5: Starts where H4 left off this time instead you realize your enemy has much more to them than you could have imagined and you start losing. The game ends with Chief left for dead and also believed to be dead by your allies. After video cinematic shows your broken body being brought to a Forerunner facility.

H6: You start in the Forerunner installion, they tell you there your believed to be dead and they tell you how too stop the enemy. Your also told it has been fives years ;your allies have become enslaved by the enemy except for a renegade few,(I want John’s old SPARTAN team to be in the game, so for the sake of this idea pretend they are!) Your also told your armour has been upgraded to Mark IX and has integrated Forerunner tech, they help you in your quest in the beginning missions. Kelly still believes John to be alive while no one else does. They attack enemy bases only to find loads of enemy’s already dead, Kelly believe’s it to be you. While you do this around mission 6 or 7 Kelly and the rebels find you too be alive. It ends obviously with you killing the enemy. I don’t want to say John’s fate, I’ll let that speak for itself.

So what do you guys think, would you like this overarching story or something similar to it in the next trilogy?

In all honesty, I think 3 should of have been it for Chief, not death but where he was… He didn’t have to die, but when a series finishes, leave it. Why must Bungie/343 milk the series for everything it has? Can’t we call it a day and you guys can dazzle us with something new and great.

You made freakin’ Halo, I think something else has to be cooking in the old noodle.

I understand what you mean. Personally, I’m hoping for a recapitulation of the pattern in the first trilogy; that is, Master Chief battling solo in the first game, joining up with the UNSC in the second game, and joining up with even more allies in the final game for an epic finale.

Companies will always continue a franchise if it appears to be profitable; that’s something no one will ever be able to change. That said, what I ten to do in these situations where an intellectual property is extended beyond its natural lifespan (and it happens a lot), is to separate the new from the old, viewing each as a self-contained series with only a vague connection between them. If you consider the original Halo trilogy as done and dusted, then all future Halo games are simply gravy.

Although people like to claim that the new stuff ruins their enjoyment of the old, that shouldn’t be the case at all. Nothing from here on out can alter the original trilogy; the writers have changed, the developers have changed, and even the community has changed. If I were to write an alternative rendition of Hamlet, it would by no means detract from the original, primarily because I’m not William Shakespeare, just as 343 Industries is not Bungie.

Meh.

The Reclaimer trilogy was ment to happen. Bungie was going to make halo 4 but didn’t want to start something they couldnt finish so they made reach and left the reclaimer trilogy to 343i.

You realize 343 only exists as a company to make Halo games, right?

If you watched the legendary ending of halo 3 it was pointing you in the direction of a new halo look it up they made it very obvious

There are still 6 functional Halo’s floating around the milky way, and who knows what ells could be happening. The story still has great potential. Its called Halo because of the Halo’s, its not called Master Chief VS the Covenant.

OP, I like your ideas. Also, if 343 sticks 117 on chiefs chest and gives the other spartans there servers tags and slightly different armour then it could easily work.

This is where knowing 343 is doing a trilogy presents a problem. Even if Chief gets hurt, we know he isn’t going to die and will be ready for the next game. No tension at all.

in b4 John dies and Jun becomes the main character. :3

Also, Reach should have been called “Reach” as Halo only makes one visible appearance.

Well we still get to wonder just how the hell he survives(that is if he gets in to a near death situation).

There is still no tension because we know he’ll survive.
