I want to be solo again I like the immersion of experience everything more by yourself without people following you around talking I’d be willing to do it how they did it in halo 3 with the chief and the arbiter where sometimes The chief and the Arbiter would be together and another Times he would be solo for a while so I can do that but I want to ditch the squad thing I don’t like it as much now maybe there could be a spin off game with blue team doing missions but yeah halo 6 no squad for me.
I just got done listening to (the 1099) podcast episode 119 where they had one of the OG creators of halo Marcus Lehto where he talked about his time at bungie the design art direction and his future game at his new studio and about at 19 minutes he talked about noble team where they actually were designing a squad based system they had aone working in prototype and everything but they decided to scrap it (quote) it wasn’t HALO that’s right Marcus Lehto art director for all the games and creative director for halo reach said it wasn’t halo if one of the OG guys saying that that means we definitely don’t want it back in halo listen to the podcast if you don’t believe me. only if we can get him back as art director.
P.S. 343 don’t change the arts style when it’s not broken.
Yeah i liked it when Chief was Solo and anytime he would have help it would be the marines.
I’d rather have him do it solo, but I’m not against having some missions where you play someone else.
the majority of the game should be solo, but a couple missions with a squad would be nice
Well do you think 343’s going to go back to just the chief going solo I feel it has a better atmosphere when exploring the unknown alone.
I think they should just do it how Reach and 3 did it with Noble team and Arbiter being there for certain times. Being in a squad doesn’t suck or anything if it happens for the entire game but the way tried to do a squad based system I think partially kinda bad and meh at the same time.

Let’s be honest, we were mostly solo in halo 5, i cant ever remember playing and being in a position where I was like ‘-Yoink- thank God I have Linda backing me up…boom headshot’. I would say halo 6 can be both. Some stages you are on your own, while others you meet up with, blue team, Osiris, Palmer and Majestic/Crimson who give support in some form. That would be class.
Solo, I don’t mind playing with other Spartans in the campaign but squad based gameplay does not belong in the main series of Halo. Very contradictory game design and I never felt like I was part of a true team compared to Republic Commando’s Delta Squad or ODST’s Alpha-Nine
i think the ability to choose would be great,
I like the idea of a squad it makes more sense for the multiplayer aspect of the campaign rather than somehow a second chief appearing beside you,
Spartans have always worked in teams, and the chiefs team has been with him since the very beginning of the spartan program, to me it only makes sense to have them as playable characters, as in the games you never heard of them,
however i also want the ability to be able to choose hey do i want to do this solo or do i want to bring my Squad with me, be it the AI or someone from my friends list,
i think this would be a great addition to the game, i do not want to be stuck with one way or the other, whilst i liked the squad idea, when playing solo they did kinda suck, the amount of times i would request a res but the AI would just stand there and look at you seems kinda unrealistic,
Fluidity is key, it would be epic if i could say pick any of the others from the squad to bring along, be it all 3, 1 or none, that to me would be something that would really shine,
They are my thoughts at least, i think its a valid scenario and it also gives more sense to the Co-Op part of the campaign.

Here’s what I’m thinking. Ditch blue team and have them fill the roll as marines in the original halo games (except invincible). Then maybe chief would have arbiter and/or locke by his side similar to how halo 3 was like.
I like having marines assistance on some missions because it makes the unsc feel more real, but the majority of the missions should be solo. I’m not a fan of having a squad of Spartans all over the place either. If there are more Spartans than regular marines, then they lose that awe that makes them special and they turn into the new cannonfodder
I think that without Cortana, Chief should have Blue Team for communication purposes. No one is there for the back & forth story-driving dialog now. So I think they’re kind of essential.
I hope it’s not all about Chief going solo when there are so many other good established characters we have all together in Halo 5 ending.I would like there to be teams missions for the most part of Halo 6 and then solo Chief missions near the end of game.From the gameplay perspective i think there should be no more then 2 playable characters even if the team is bigger.Split screen was confirmed to come back so i think it would be cool if we play some missions in teams of 4,we get to choose which 2 characters we want to play as.
Why cant we just play as chief and fight with marines who dont look like theyre about to go skiing

Having a squad would be fine as long as they don’t have that revive or ordering them around
