Should Boosts be Made Uniform?

No, I don’t mean “clothes”. I mean “the same”.I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but doesn’t it seem counter-intuitive for there to be Arena and Warzone boosts? I understand that AI kills and whatnot wouldn’t be possible in Arena, but the varying values for boosts that should realistically be the same is needless and, in the case of Arena RP Boosts, artificially… punishing? Eh, best word I can think of.

Think about it, there’s two versions of every RP boost; one for Warzone, one for Arena. A Rare RP boost, for example, gives 250 REQ points in Arena, whereas its Warzone counterpart gives 1500 (I think). So you’re essentially losing 1250 REQ points every single time you get a Rare Arena RP Boost instead of its Warzone counterpart. That’s a big difference that only gets bigger as you go up the rarities (I think Legendary RP Boosts are 750 Arena and 4500 Warzone).

The argument that “Arena games are shorter” is invalid because boosts are single-time use. Once you go through your supply they’re gone until you unpack more, so the time it takes to use them is ultimately meaningless. I can’t think of a scenario where I’d prefer to get an Arena boost to a Warzone boost because the arena versions seem much too inconsequential in comparison.

Its a good idea, but as i mostly play warzone i get the most RP so its not that much of an issue for me.

There are people who never play Warzone, people who never play Arena, and those who mix it up. I play both a lot but I get Arenas so often that I have about 86 normal boosts for it, but I’m always only about 1-2 boosts per type in Warzone boosts. In gen the entire boost concept is BS and we should just get more req points per game.

Or at least have multiple types of req packs: Area players could by req packs that are cheaper/only have cosmetic stuff and cheap warzone players can buy packs that only have weapon reqs/no unlocks.

Getting a legendary boost for warzone is usually the only thing that gives me a reason to play it, so I think that its working as intended: to encourage cross play.

Nope. The arguement that warzone last longer actually is a valid arguement. Why should people who play shorter games make as much as those who put more time in? How is that rewarding in anyway possible? I only play warzone sometimes because it’s boosts are bigger, but I mainly play arena anyways. Your average arena player will also not care so much about the boost advantage warzone gives as well. They’re not in it for the armor or the overpowered toys, they’re in it for the competitive play. So are you implying that boosts aren’t fair? Well they’re not going to when one side demands more to begin with. If I’m in a warzone game that lasts 30 minutes I damn well better get more xp/RP than an arena game lasting 15 minutes at the most. That’s how games in general work when it comes to rewards. The longer, more demanding the mission/quest/mode is, the bigger the reward.

I don’t like being " that guy" but I primarily play WZ due to the higher RP rewards. If Arena would pay out the same I would play it a lot more. I have quite a few Arena RP boosts that I guess I will use some day, but like you said its not really worth it.

I’m surmising the RP boost benefit is tied to length of the game. I’m pretty sure if you get destroyed in WZ 1000-100 you only get in the hundreds RP not the thousands.

Same here.

The length of the matches is not why Arena gives less RP. A game of Warzone Assault can take 6 minutes, while a CTF game can last 20.

Boosts always give a fixed amount of RP based on the rarity, no matter how poorly you or your team does (unless it is a “jackpot”, which varies).

Arena RP boosts give so much less simply due to the fact that nothing bought with RP is used in Arena at all (cosmetics don’t count because nobody actually cares about your armor, I know I don’t). Warzone boosts give a significantly larger amount for good reason, you will be using the REQs you gain in that mode for that mode.

Personally I’d like more XP boosts, I have 58 Rare Warzone RP Jackpots I’ll never be able to get through because I keep getting more.

tl:dr : keep it how it is, it’s fine.

It’s already been proven that game time matters on xp and RP. Many people drag games on till the ten minute mark to get the full benefit. People who finish warzone assualt in 6 aren’t getting the full benefit of making it longer, it’s been tested and proven. I’m sure warzone boosts give more as well because it’s warzone, it’s to encourage people to play it more and replenishes your supply faster, but still, longer games still give you added benefits.

RP Boosts are static (bar jackpots). The mission payout itself fluctuates.

I believe you shouldn’t have the pressure of wondering how many boosts you can use in either Arena, or Warzone. Making them uniform would make it simple, and easy just to pick and choose which boost you would like.

I for one play halo for fun, not to get paid the most in a digital currency lol. Don’t fall into this req point trap is my advice.
