Should all Promethean weapons disintegrate?

So with all the new weaponry in Halo 4 do you think all Promethean weapons disintegrate biologicals(So Grunts, Jackals, Elites, Human allies, you, maybe even Hunters who just leave armor behind) upon kills. 343 seems to really enjoy the effect as both the Oddball and Flag do the same. I think it would give the Promethean weapons a real intimidation factor whenever they are used.

I personally would like it if all the energy based Promethean weapons should cause disintegration as I think it would give them a unique feel and make them still feel like something used by a highly advanced race 100,000 years ago. They don’t have to be any more powerful(in gameplay) than the other weapons but disintegration would make you feel outgunned and fighting against a very technologically superior faction superior even to the Covenant weapons even though balance wise you are not.

The bonus being not having to render as many bodies in during levels with Prometheans. Not to mention how satisfying it would be to nail several headshots on Grunts and watch them disintegrate before your eyes with a Light Rifle. That would definitely give them reason to flee.

Canon wise it makes sense, the weapons were designed to stop the flood from spreading by disintegrating their bodies so spores couldn’t re-infect.

I think it would fit in with canon, since the weapons would have been used to fight the flood. You might want to add that in to make your point stronger.

We were thinking the same thing

Maybe a different animation would be cool. Like different types of disintegration??? Maybe like how Fallout 3 had different animations for both energy weapons. Goo and Ashes? Maybe implosions?

That never occured to me until I read that. Point taken, it makes perfect sense that they would disintegrate since they were facing the Flood.

That would be interesting. Maybe all the energy based weapons disintegrate, but perhaps there are other types of weapons. Perhaps a power weapon that sucks the victim into slipspace

I don’t think the weapons kill by disintegration. They just disintegrate the remains once the target is dead.

> I don’t think the weapons kill by disintegration. They just disintegrate the remains once the target is dead.

I realize that, that is the whole point of the thread. Should all Promethean weapons disintegrate(biological) enemies upon delivering the killing blow? I believe they ought to unless they are different type of weapon from the other weapons.

So that list would include at least the Scattershot, Light Rifle, Promethean Repeater and possibly the mystery Promethean weapon and the pistol, if not others.

UNLIMITED PARTIKEL EFFEX!

But srs, it looks cool and makes sense.

It’s weird for flag/oddball though.
