“Halo 4, regardless if it was good or terrible, had a severe lack of variety because of the voting system. In theory letting the group as a whole vote for a map they want to play sounds like a win-win, but in practice it restricts the game into a select few popular maps and modes. 90% of the time I can guess exactly which map and mode we’re going to end up playing.
For a compilation of over 100 maps I’m very fearful we’re going to be playing the same 25 maps and there will be some maps that you will almost never, ever play. The variety factor of the game is going to be depressed and if you like any maps or modes that aren’t in the top 25 you can pretty much forget playing them.
The veto system from Halo 3 should be implemented instead. It chooses a map and mode for you to play and if the majority veto that you’re given a different map and mode that you play. This allows you to at least sometimes play maps that aren’t as popular, but you can discover some great gameplay that you didn’t have a chance to experience before.”
