Should 343i go easy on the bans?

I am blocked all day from playing arena (including the new Infection mode I’ve been waiting for since launch) because last night I had to call it short on my last match. (I actually can’t remember if it disconnected me instead, which I have been banner from disconnects in the past)

I feel like if I quit a Slayer match from the night before, I shouldn’t be kept from playing a social game type like Infection the next day. Do you agree?

I understand quitting ruins competitive matches, but I’m really frustrated being left out on the release day of infection. Discuss…

Well you have 5 DNFs in 2 days…Discuss…

They do go easy. I quit my share of games that I’m left shorthanded or I just don’t feel like getting my brains beat in over or the kids wake up and interrupt, not once have I been banned.

About 1/8 matches I am disconnected half way through, I don’t have Ethernet and I’ve had disconnect problems with only this game, since launch. I’m starting to believe some of those disconnects are getting counted as DNF, as I will admit I might have to leave a match early sometimes if I’m late for work or my dinner is getting cold…

No, people get lagged out from time to time, myself included, but I have never been banned once and 90% of the people that are banned deserve it for quitting. Quitting is out of control and the hammer should be bigger, not smaller.

If you’re not 100% sure that you can play a full round you shouldn’t start it. I understand things happen in life, but quitters deserve bans everyday and any day, releases or not.

And after looking at your quits (11 out of your last 30 games) I would ban you for like a month. You’re a problem quitter.

They’re all counted as DNF, because it doesn’t matter what your excuse is.

Still, banned all day today? That means I was banned all last night, through the morning, and it won’t even end until tomorrow at midnight.

Or does the game simply start your ban from the time you log in again?

If you have internet issues you need to straighten that out. It’s not 343’s job to make sure you have stable internet. I have 2,466 games played and ZERO bans even with the occasional lag out. Stop quitting and blaming it on disconnects.

Go easy into the ban thread.

And yeah that’s bull -Yoink-. I NEVER get disconnected from any other game, H5’s own severs kick me out.

At the point it hits you it starts

It’s crazy how in most of the games where you got a DNF you were going negative and in most of the games you finished you were going positive? Strange how the servers seem to know you’re not doing well and disconnects you from those games. lol

Quitting is still rampant so no they shouldn’t… Why give the quitters their way? Why allow quitting to go unpunished? If any thing make it more strict… I don’t see what is so hard about completing a game you start.

I’d guess the game is rejecting your bad connection, whereas other games are more forgiving. I’d rather the game kick out the bad connections than subject us all to that junk.

So sounds like a personal problem to me. Chubbs could count on his hands how many games I’ve been disconnected from in H5.

If I have lag or connections issues I immediately go reset my router after a game. My internet isn’t the greatest either but regardless…life can maybe account for 1 of those…but 5…come on

I agree.
The banning cool-down is to long! While i understand why they put it in, it shouldn’t take forever to play again.
For Halo Reach, it was only 10 minutes! For Halo 5, I don’t know who or what the heck is making the bans, but its -Yoinking!- broken.
First of all, I only quit ONE Match not two in a row.

Second of all, and after I completed the second match, I was put on a ban for 8 hours! 8 Hours! I didn’t do anything wrong while I played either. No betrayals or anything. It was freaking infection, I only killed the zombies when I was a human, and vice versa.
Its -Yoinking!- ridiculous.

It’s a progressive scale…you have to quit alot to get banned for a day. I’ve been banned the longest for like 10 minutes a cpl times when I was having internet issues. You habitually DNF it just gets longer and longer until you give it a rest.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have a pretty decent wireless connection that hasn’t failed me for any game but Halo 5, so I fail to see the problem on my end when it comes to that.

No I can’t use Ethernet from my room. I don’t currently have the funds for a 50$+ wireless power line or whatever.

As for the times I actually haven’t finished the matches, I definitely agree there has to be some sort of punishment. I am just asking the community on their opinions if I should be banned the entire day

Feel free to discuss any ban related issues here.
