I just saw this video of all the weapons in Halo SPV3,which appears to be the latest version of Halo: Custom Edition on the PC.
The modders who created it have made some seriously sweet toys for their custom-made version of the Halo: CE campaign. You’ve got Assault Rifles and Battle Rifles with under-barrel grenade launchers, the Spec-Ops Battle Rifle, Spec-Ops SMG, and Spec-Ops Sniper Rifle which all come equipped with silencers and a scope for the SMG. You’ve got the Brute Plasma Pistol which fires scattered plasma bolts and sets the ground on fire when charged.
Then there’s the Shredder- basically a Brute Needler- and though I can tell what separates it from the regular Needler in terms of gameplay (though in other videos I’ve seen it acts kind of like a Needler-shotgun), it looks downright awesome. There’s also playable versions of the Hunter’s various arm-mounted cannons, including the Fuel Rod Guns from Halo: CE and Halo: Reach, the Assault Beam from Halo 2 and Halo 3, and even a new Hunter weapon in the form of an arm-mounted Shade cannon.
I’ve been checking in on Halo: Custom Edition ever since I first got into Halo with Halo 2 way back in 2005. The additions the modders have made to the Halo 1 campaign just keep getting more awesome, and I can’t help but wish that Microsoft would bring Halo SPV3 to consoles as a spin-off…
Of course, they could always just take some of the SPV3 weapons and drop them into Warzone as REQ weapons, or even add them to Forge. I’d love to see the Battle Rifle GL and Spec-Ops Battle Rifle added in as variants of the Halo 2 Battle Rifle in Warzone, for example. The Brute Plasma Pistol, Shredder, and the Brute Gravity Grenade would all make interesting additions to the Halo sandbox as well, especially if they ever bring Brute enemies to Warzone and Warzone Firefight.
It would be ironic considering the major inspiration for this mod was their hatred of Halo 2’s bloated and redundant sandbox. No, that’s not me projecting my own views onto this mod, that’s literally what they themselves have said.
Some of the weapons would make good additions. Others already conceptually exist in this game. Still others would be broken or pointless outside of Campaign (Jackal Shield and Silenced Sniper respectively).
> though in other videos I’ve seen it acts kind of like a Needler-shotgun
Silent Cartographer Evolved was a different project with different goals, but made by the same people more or less.
The Needler-Shotgun is present in that map, but in the SPV3 version it’s been changed completely.

I feel some clarification is needed.
Halo Custom Edition is an official version of Halo PC that allows modding.
These are maps made for Halo Custom Edition by one specific team of modders.
There’s far more to Halo Custom Edition than just CMT or SPV3.
as for the silenced weapons, u already have the silenced loadout variants which do a pretty good job of making you stealthy…don’t see how they need to be added
OHOHO YEAH. Yeah they absolutely should! There are some REALLY good guns! Though some are uh. broken.
Like the covenant carbine and Needle Rifle. Idea behind the carbine is great, execution makes it the BEST FRIGGIN GUN EVER- and that’s what I hate about it…! I actively avoid picking it up so I can have more fun in SPV3.
The Shredder is great, a wonderful variation of the needler. The Brute Pistol is just insane with that fire and we neeeeeeeed iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Its Assault Rifle, Magnum in particular, both feel great. The Battle Rifle feels good for its job and its semi-auto fire is devastating and useful. The DMR feels right too. They nailed the UNSC weapons- though I find the SMG horribly redundant and mostly useless.
The hunter cannons would be great fun, especially as a requisition. I mean you’ve already got all the variants right there. All Halo 5 is missing is the beam, but the autogun which I hate could be there, the fuel rod and the beam? Perfect req variants of the hunter cannon.
SPV3 does a lot to improve the formula of Halo. I think 343i can certainly learn from it.
I know this is weapons but I’d love to see brutes and skirmishers added to halo 5 for warzone and firefight too. Those were great enemies to fight and especially if they came with their weapons like the shredder, brute shot, spiker and the focus rifle,
The brute weapons from the mod would be nice along side the brute sandbox. Have it like a brute based update. Would rather the actual needle rifle before SPV3’s carbine but it is a cool concept
