I really don’t know where to put this so I’ll just put this here, but I’ve hade this idea on my head for a while, and I think its a great idea. Should 343i bring back “the flood”? No not the character, the forum section on bungie.net where if it didn’t belong anywhere else, it would go there, or just a new forum section where you are free to talk about anything unrelated to Halo. Where you can talk about news, music, games, television etc. Pretty much you can talk about anything and everything. You can ask people what they thought about last nights episode of breaking bad, or peoples reactions to Daft Punks new album. I would find it a great addition to the forums and I doubt it would be very hard to add. There’s just so much stuff I would love to ask the community, I am just resistant to ask because I am afraid of getting my thread locked and/or my account suspended/banned. Also it would be nice if the moderators were a little more reasonable in that section with the suspensions as well but there should still be a line.
Wouldn’t it be nice if 343i added this, I think it would keep the forums “cleaner” IMO.

Yes but it still has to be related to Halo or Xbox in General Discussion, which in term is not what I’m trying to say, I’m saying a section to discuss anything and everything, that in term, will keep other forum sections cleaner, and peoples threads not getting locked when they discuss something unrelated to Halo and the Xbox brand entirely.

See, as I’ve said, there’s a place for everything. To add to what I said earlier, a flood forums would just become full of completely useless and random things, people ask questions that make no sense, and eventually that specific forums would become 100’s of pages of useless, random things.

You see this is kind of exactly what I’m looking for, but in a whole section, not a thread. Instead of it being a Halo community, it would be rather a “Community”. Maybe I want to ask people what the best specs for a gaming PC are, what should I get and look for, where’s the best prices I get. A lot of people (especially gamers) may not have people to talk to about these sort of things (or anyone) so why not make a section where they can, and are free to post those sort of things without them getting locked.

So what, if people want to have fun and joke around on the forums, they should have a section to do so. If people enjoy it, then why not, no one would be forcing you to go there. Some people just don’t have people to talk. Wouldn`t you rather have 100 pages of useless stuff there than on this section. Adding it would not hurt anybody, and its keeps the forums cleaner, which is why bungie added it in the first place.
But again, its more of an Off Topic section I would like to see.

Where you talking in the thread, or did you make a thread in General Discussions about it? Because I can go through general discussions and see that there are a bunch of locked threads. I still stand by my opinion, as it hurts none to add it, and if its a total disaster, they can always delete it. I can see though they are pretty lenient there but still, I never knew that cause it said For Halo and Xbox discussions only. There should still be a thread for anything off topic to the Xbox brand or Halo Universe, and all off topic threads in general discussion can go there, that in turn keeps all Xbox and halo discussion there, and everything else in the off topic section. I don’t see why everyone’s against this.

OP, the problem with an Off-Topic section is how much moderation it would need. Generally speaking, the one off topic thread we have tends to abide by the rules and there aren’t really any mishaps that go on.
If we were to introduce things like “The Flood” for example, we’d start getting things like Porch Day, [something inappropriate regarding circles] and various other troll activities that would cause a lot of problems for the moderators and the community involved. The moderators have already said that, generally speaking, if you want an off topic section like what you refer to, just go to B.Nets “The Flood”.
It’s annoying, yes, but understandable that they’d not want to have to deal with all the crap the trolls in off topic sections generally bring.
We actually had one a while back. It was the Cats Forum, and it was bad! There were a ton of threads just trolling and breaking the rules. It was bad enough that I’m pretty sure it’s never coming back. One thread is just fine for off-topic.

But this is the HALO forums. Not the “Halo and the Kitchen Sink” forums. And within reason, you can have a lot of topics in General Discussion. Topics about your PC specs, for instance, would likely be okay.
There’s no real need for a place to discuss sports, for example, since this is the Official Halo Forums.
I understand what you’re asking but I just don’t see that happening here. This is why I have other forums I’m a member of. Plus, the separation is nice.
