Should 343 take a page out of the new Dooms book?

So after looking at the new doom streams (which look amazingly old school) one thing caught my eye was the Codex with information on the lore and universe. I think this would be a great idea for 343 to use in there games for now on, not only to explain things from the books but to just give more opportunity for new comers to get a heads up on whats truly going on.

I think an in-game codex would be excellent, though, Halo’s lore is significantly more constrained than Doom’s, so the smallest lore created could cause ripples that affect all future lore. So, I unfortunately don’t know if 343i has a writing team up for the challange.

Though, I of course could be wrong. Halo 5 did have the intel audio logs.

Well another game that did the codex system well was Mass Effect and if they get some good writers to do the same thing for Halo I could spend a long time reading them just like I did in Mass Effect.

The minimum 343 can do is to summarize what’s already known for this and that, so it’s not really risky… Though I prefer when they add a thing or two, so the source of information is cool.

I don’t know Doom, so I can’t say much about it. But for Halo, I wish 343 would reintroduce the “Library” function, which would work perfectly with the Artemis system… So that we don’t need Kinect which is useless. It’s a shame they removed the possibility to scan in MCC’s CEA, though. When I finally had a Kinect since it came with the Xbox One…

I can just imagine it…the amount of data it adds to the game bloats its install size by a full three gigs.
But seriously though it would rule to have something like that, a way for those of us who dont know about the lore to find out, an dthose who do know to A) make sure we have our data right, and B) maybe give us some infor that wasn’t avalable before, liek the data pads in 5.
