should 343 make exclusive armor like recon?

I think they should. bungie at first only gave it out to certain people for doing awesome stuff in like machinma then later down the road at halo 3 ODST they gave people the chance to earn it with vidmasters. 343 should do this BUT they need to keep it exclusive and rare for a long long long time. this will give the armor its value.

Would be cool if additional armor was unlocked from achievements like in Halo 3

Just make the armor awesome looking. Most on 4 is not my taste and IMO looks hideous and non-human like.

It would be nice to have exclusive armor again.

That way I can hear little kids make a big deal about it.

Ahhhh Halo 3. Good times.

From what I’ve heard, Spartan Assault has a VidMaster Achievement.
I’m hoping this means that Halo 5 will also have VidMasters.

In the days of Halo 3, I didn’t have the experience to tackle the VidMasters.
But now, many years later, I’m ready.

No, all armor in the game should be easily accessible to everyone.

> No, all armor in the game should be easily accessible to everyone.

But where is the fun in that? I personally would like to have VidMaster Achievements again that would unlock some cool armours.

Yes, they should have awesome treats like the Katana and Security armor in Halo 3 and Skull helmet in Reach. And then a super rare armor that only 343 employees can have and people that have won it in some way, via 343i. For the Halo community of Halo 2 and Halo 3, Bungie where like a mystic entity that you where lucky to ever see in the game, and could only really get a higher chance of seeing if you reached level 50 in team slayer (also another reason why ranking up was so important to people). Recon and the orange flames where legendary, 343 should try and recreate that.

Explain.

So you’re saying it’s fun to have an armor set that NO ONE can get, but those 343i give it to. IE like Bungie first did with Recon? And then lets look at what happens, everyone complains and begs for the armor set to be released to everyone, 343i releases it to everyone, and then those who got the armor before it was released to everyone complains even worse than people are right now. all because their armor is a status symbol to them, and the fact that everyone can get the armor diminishes the value.

Now tell me, is it hard for some random Joe to go out and complete the vidmaster achievements, and get the armor? Does it take an act from 343i for this random Joe to get said armor? No? Then it falls under the “Easily accessible to everyone” category.

I am all in for 343i to have an armour set that only they get to use at first, then rest of the community, by doing vidmasters.

This sets a goal to the players, and makes them interested in the game for longer.

And it does not necessarily fall under the title “easy armour to get” since Vidmasters were not really that easy.

I think all armors should be unlockable some way.
It was really a shame that I can’t have the deadeye helmet because I used a different store.

Make all armors unlockable 343, like:

unlock certain halo achievements like complete halo games on legendary or you have x vidmaster achievements.

complete the campaign on certain difficulties or even mythic

Find stuff in the game like skulls, terminals and easter eggs

> And it does not necessarily fall under the title “easy armour to get” since Vidmasters were not really that easy.

Right, so the only way to do the vidmasters is to spend large amounts of money, and somehow impress some employees at 343i.

Vidmasters is easy in the sense you’re not competing with a million other people to get 343i to give you some armor set. But instead you’re working hard to unlock a cool set of armor by doing challenges within the game.

“dude is that recon, are you from bungie? Man you have to hook me up that is like the coolest armor ever, and I am an amazing player I’ll do anything for it anything”.

And my friends always wondered why I got booted for betrayals in Halo 3

Does anybody else remember the mass hackings in Halo 3 every time somebody would win Recon? It was very very cool to run into somebody who had Recon in Halo 3, there’s no doubt about it, but I’m not sure it was worth it in that case…

Though having an armour attached to a very difficult task, like the Vidmasters in Halo 3/ODST? Now that’s something I’d love to see come back.

For the real topic. I think they should do what they did with Reach and use waypoint to give out the “special” armors.

Not sure if sarcasm or…?

Like Military Police and CQB?

Raider is kinda like that.

In a way yea it is, but with the Reach ones you had to have achievements from other games to get them, I liked that part. It was a thank you for the loyalty you have had towards the game. H4 should have had something like that, it was the 5th halo game on the 360, there are now 7 and each one of those should have given you something towards an armor set.

I agree with this completely! I loved that aspect of unlocking armours in Reach, and was disappointed that it was never expanded upon in Halo 4.
