I bet you’re asking “What’s with Zombies that needs fixing?” Well, it’s not a glitch that needs fixing. It’s the fact that it sucks to play a zombie. It’s hardly any fun.
Let me break down what usually happens at the start of a Zombie match. Humans gather together in a corner. Zombies try to catch them off guard. They usually fail and are almost instantly killed for their troubles. Repeat over 50 times until Humans begin to run out of ammo. For the Zombies, they’re usually trapped in a cycle of spawn, run, be killed.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love outsmarting a human and taking him out. It feels great. But it happens so rarely…
Well the new zombie map Spooky Base is much better designed for fair balanced play, where zombies stand a much better chance at killing targets however nobody ever votes for it.

I’m more of a Reach person than Halo3
but that shows why Reach’s community sucks
most of them don’t play for fun and they’re unsupportive
they play for their K/D ratio
agreed 100%. i believe the speed boost given to zombies in Reach was meant to add some sort of advantage, however jumping/evading is simply too clumsy to accomplish anything. idk what, but something should be done to make them a bit more formidable
Zombies should be headshot-only with instant respawns that work specifically for the gametype to make them spawn nearby, but survivors have some terrain advantages.
Less downtime, more playtime, that’s the bottomline.

Well, the reason why the speed doesn’t help is that Zombies are so weak.
Hm. Actually, this whole thing gives me an idea for simple but potentially fun gametype.
It’s Alpha Zombie but with a twist. The Zombies can use any gun that the humans use and are like them in every way except the Alpha Zombie and Last Man Standing have enhanced attributes of some sort. I would call the gametype Mind Control.

Like them in every way, with the ability to use any weapon? Isn’t that called Team Slayer?
The Magnum is the only thing that really bugs me with Infection. How are the zombies supposed to get anywhere if they’re being popped in the head all the time?
I’d also like to see the radar turned off for EVERYONE, as I find it to be a lot more fun when you have no idea what’s waiting for you around the corner!
> Like them in every way, with the ability to use any weapon? Isn’t that called Team Slayer?
Sorry, I forgot to add that the Alpha Zombie and Last Man Standing had enhanced physical attributes. I edited my post at the last minute.
But even without that, no, it wouldn’t be. Team 1 starts out with one Alpha vs Team 2 with the rest of the group in it. The Alpha will slowly “recruit” members to his cause with a showdown between the LMS and Alpha along with his “recruits”.
I don’t really hate infection, as it happens to be one of my other favorite gametypes in Halo 3. In Reach, it did’nt really randomize who got to be the zombie first, as a person could start off being a zombie several times in a row.Plus, many of the maps had places that were very difficult to reach, if not impossible because of the exploitable chokeholds in place.
If I could at least change anything, at least 343 should make it truly random where the first zombie is not the same person. Or at the very least, have a mode where the person with the highest score gets to be the zombie.
There’s a simple fix for this, Just make the playlist random. If the playlist isn’t online 24/7 people don’t know all camping spots, map behavior, spawns, exploits, etc.

I despise people who play for stats, they never choose the gametype that is the most fun, they pick the one they can get the most kills in. The amount of times some party of tards has picked Oddball over Juggernaut just so they could rape everyone trying to get the ball is a testament to this.

There are too few maps that shipped with Reach, what this means is that the maps in Reach have to be designed for ‘multi-purpose use’. This means maps which are primarily designed for slayer like Boardwalk have to also work and play well in zombies. It makes map design much harder and zombies much less fun.
Amen brother. Playing as a Zombie in Reach is utter hell. The game itself has turned into a bunch of campers with Magnums, shooting you in the head right as you spawn. Don’t eben get me STARTED on Zombie Ghosts. I honestly have no idea for a better game type, but 343i better fix this, or I will stay away from Infection, just as I do in Reach.

After 3 years of playing Reach I have only played Juggernaut twice. The first time everyone bailed. The second I won by miles and got a great k/d.
Either way the cause of this is that casual and competitive playlists are merged together therefore meaning that you get players which want to get kills and players who want to have fun both voting in the same selection. Split playlists back into social and competitive and this problem is gone. Furthermore you can put more fun gametypes in social slayer and rumble pit and you have more chance of playing them. Everybody wins.
