Should 343 do something to honor Iwata?

As many of you might already know, Satoru Iwata has passed away.

It really got me thinking of how much he did for the industry and then that got me thinking of how cool it would be for 343 to give him an easter egg or something in Halo 5. It might seem irrelevant, the connection between Halo and Nintendo, but it’s really not. Halo is an iconic series right up there with some of the greatest Nintendo series. The Master Chief shares the same legendary popularity as characters like Mario and Link. The point is, both Nintendo and 343 are dealing with games that very well reach back into our childhoods and are still relevant today.

Activision can keep releasing CoD and EA can keep making Battlefield games but they’ll never reach that special status that Halo and Mario games have. To celebrate being a part of that, do you think it would be reasonable to see Iwata get an easter egg or something?

I’d honestly be surprised if they did release an easter egg like that.

Yeah, it definitely is. Would be cool to see nonetheless!

Agreed, a bit much.

I don’t think so.

Although it would be cool of there was a skull that make the grunts sound Italian like Mario. I’m aware that would require a huge amount of work and will never happen but it would be funny.

You want us to take out bowser in warzone or something?

Xbox execs and other MS / 343 staff have already publically expressed sadness at his passing. If they wanted to do something like this I imagine they could, but I’m not sure they would tobe honest. Perhaps Nintendo will do something in one of their upcoming games
