Okay, so I know I might be called a noob, but they should. Either buff the energy sword, or increase elites shields to be more powerful, but recharge slower. I am so annoyed with the sword block, I mean WHO CAN BLOCK SUPER HEATED PLASMA! I halo 3, the energy sword seemed better and had a longer range. I actually had a chance to win against shotguns. Now, the only way to get a energy sword kill is to take suprise of the enemy, which is why most people camp with the energy sword and not the shotgun.

Well, not always. When you go head to head with a shotgun vs. sword, shotgun wins. Sword vs assault, even with sprint I pretty much always win agaist the sword guy. I think they should increase the range and increase number of swings, like halo 2

Sword Block only works well in LAN, connection plays way to much part in it working on LIVE games.
Do you notice how most maps that have sword also have a shotgun? They are a counter to each other because without both, one would reign free all over the map.

That’s the only downside, they both have no counter considering they are both camping friendly.

if u mean that u have to have both sword and shotgun as weapons u re wrong, they’ll kill u in a blink with sniper or simply DMR or neddle rifle 
Sword block isn’t even in Matchmaking except in Team Slayer and Squad DLC as far as my knowledge goes.

Not true at all. A sniper could take out someone with a shotgun in second. They are not there to cancel each-other out.
I think that energy swords are effective against people without power-weapons, but not as much against people with them.
Energy Sword > BR/DMR
Shotgun > Energy Sword
BR/DMR > Shotgun
(Depending on the range, obviously)
