In Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST, we had Vidmaster Achievements like Annual and Déjà Vu which was an interesting add on to do. It was fun, rewarding and sometimes a pain to do. I wish that Halo 5 Guardian had it because it further emphasis teamwork in the Campaign and also you get something rewarding like the Recon Armor in Halo 3 after you finish all Vidmaster Achievements. That’s my opinion and I would like to hear your guys’ opinion.
No, they were a chore to get. It did not make it better when you had to do it all over again. Not because you failed, but someone had to leave or there was lag. The worst was Pacifist (I think that is what it is called). It was disheartening to do it over and over again and fail. How did I fail? Honking the Warthog. I should not have to explain how unbelievably stupid that is.

…I’m sorry, that was a Vidmaster challenge?

My bad, it was “Classic”. You could not shoot or throw a grenade while solo on Legendary. Honking the Warthog automatically fails you.
I’d rather they didn’t. I was never a fan.
Meh, why not!
It did keep a few people playing for a long time.

Lol, all I did was drive with the ghost. I never knew that…
I’ve always enjoyed the Vidmaster Challenges and even helped a lot of people after I already completed them, so definitely yes, they should bring them back!
It really doesn’t bother me whether they make a return or not, but I would really like to see a payoff for achievement hunting, like in Halo 3.
I remember working so hard to get the Marathon Helmet and Katana sword, really fleshed out the game much more, and made the overall experience more entertaining.
While they were a chore to get and caused me hours of frustration and anxiety, I would love it if they returned. Looking back, it was a lot of fun working towards something like that especially knowing there was armor tied to completing them all. I had fun and made memories, I would love to do it all over again.

Which campaign was it?

Halo 3:ODST - Finished any level solo on Legendary, on LIVE, with no shots fired or grenades thrown.
I enjoyed them as achievements so I wouldn’t mind seeing them back
I’m a fan of ANY challenges thrown into campaign.
I find after playing them normally, completing them in a certain with with specific requirements makes it really fun. And especially if its challenging definitely adds replay ability to the campaign.
Something similar would be highly appreciated. I enjoyed the frustrating challenge. It was fun, it got people together, and it had a reward at the end that had value instead of just worthless gamerscore.
I don’t see why not. I had fun getting them.
I would love them, I wouldn’t have a problem if they came back

Oh, right. I was thinking he was thinking of the Be Like Marty one, I forgot about that one. Sorry.
But from what I understand of it, the point of it was supposed to be about doing it either entirely with splatters/melees, or do it in co-op and have your friend (or you, with a second controller) do all the work. While the thing about honking the Warthog is admittedly ridiculous, that still sounds like a ton of fun to me, and I wish I could remember doing it. I’m imagining doing this on Uplift Reserve, and splattering everybody with a Warthog or Chopper, and sneaking up around the Wraiths and hopping on them to beat them down. Well, or giving your marines power weapon and loading them into the Warthog. I really want to do that again now.
Anyway, the whole point of achievements in general is that you’re not forced to do them, all they are is more optional content to add to the game that you don’t have to do if you don’t want to, assuming you aren’t really, really obsessed with simply having 100% achievement completion rather than actually doing what it takes to get it. And what are Vidmaster challenges if not simply harder-than-usual achievements? When other achievements in Halo are usually just like “get a few kills with the Needler” or “get a couple double kills in Matchmaking” or “get a bunch of flags in Stockpile”, I strongly welcome Vidmaster-style things. They present a level of difficulty that’s unfortunately absent from most games’ single players these days, Halo definitely included.
Although (going slightly off topic) I do have a really big problem with how they added two Vidmaster achievements that call for 4-player Xbox Live games without giving ODST an actual matchmaking system. I mean, come on, if I can beat the 4th set on Heroic (or higher) by myself, I should still be able to earn it, shouldn’t I? Seriously, it’s RIDICULOUSLY hard organizing one of these things, even if you have multiple willing parties. I’ve tried.
To be honest, even though I have done Marathon’s VidMaster challenges, I never got any of the 4-player VidMaster achievements for Halo 3 or ODST.
I guess that if they added them to future titles, maybe more people would try getting them, and would be willing to join with me in the quest for glory.
Accept no difficulty besides Total Carnage…
Punch all switches…
Never use bullets where you can use grenades…
Never use CAPS-lock as your sprint key…
Never retreat…
And never, ever leave a single BOB alive…

It can be, but there are websites designed to bring people together to play games to get achievements. I’m a member of one and that’s how I got both those 4 player Live achievements
I’d love to see that stuff back. It was hard as hell, but they call them achievements for a reason. I remember when I did the one for 4-way coop with ghosts and how long that took. Fun times…
