Shotgun or scattershot?

what do you like better?

The scattershot has a faster fire rate and better range than the shotgun but the shotgun is a beast and if close enough blows someone away one hit everytime no problem!

im a shotgun guy myself

If the Scattershot had as much consistency as the Shotgun, then i would choose the Scattershot anyday of the week.

Otherwise i would go with the shotgun.

The Shotgun is by far the better weapon, the Scattershot may have longer range, but it is extremely inconsistent with said range, the shots will randomly stop in midair sometimes and the damage is extremely low at said distance.

The Shotgun is much more consistent and powerful, and if you want to get closer to the enemy using Sprint for the easy kill, then you can.

no. contest.

scattershot sucks in my opinion. You have to use AT LEAST two shots if the enemy is at any range away. Sometimes I am forced to use up to 5 shots, just pumping them out wondering when the hell the guy is going to die. Half the time a boltshot user can beat a scattershot user. The spread on the scattershot is much to wide, and makes it inconsistent. Not cool.

Never had that problem with the shotgun. It is a beast.

The Shotgun is much better. The Scattershot just doesn’t work quite the way it’s supposed to. I love both, but you have to be right in their face to guarantee a kill with the Scattershot.

I concur…originally i thought the Scattershot would be better, but as i continued to use it, i began to notice the inconsistency of the weapon. The Shotgun, i was expecting it to be as powerful as the one from Reach. It seems week, like I would have to take a second shot, even if i were at close range.

Am I crazy for wanting the Halo 4 shotgun, the scattershot, and the M90 from Halo CE to be in the next Halo game? They could all operate in different ways examples:

-H4 Shotgun behaves as it currently does(longer range than H3’s, 6 shots, slower).

-Scattershot again behaves the same(fires fast, still limited ammo, less damaging).

-M90 could have a lot of spread w/ near infinite range(ala Halo CE) but only be a 1SK up close(Halo 3’s range).

In Halo 4 though I prefer the Shotgun because of its power/range in the first shot.

Shotgun. I know I can kill with it at close range, whereas with the scattershot I could take 3 shots point blank at someone and not have them die.

Scattershot all the way baby!!! I have no problems with the good ol shotty, That thing is a lot more reliable at close range however. Its just that the scattershot is my favorite of the two.

I prefer the Scattershot overall (dem bouncing pellets) but the Shotgun is more consistent.

Still voted scattershot, it’s just more fun to use (and sounds better).

Scattershot is cool and all, but it just doesn’t work well

Shotgun is way more consistent

I think its kind of weird how the human weapons are better than the weapons of an ancient and extremely powerful race that has technology beyond imagination.

As the others have said the Shotgun is the better weapon. The Scattershot is wildly inconsistent.

If it hurts, it works!

The Scattershot is just a horrid weapon.
Shotty all the way baby.

shotgun, classic favourite weapon (Im a close combat person)

I prefer the consistency of the human shotgun, also I like more the design of the Halo 4 shotgun than the previous Halo games, for me it looks more futuristic and rude.

Shotgun because of its better accuracy compared to the scattershot.

shotgun…scattershot is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you are gonna get.

I have seen the scattershot kill someone from 10 ft away then only for me to use it and shoot someone point blank and not kill them. (way to inconsistent)
