Look, I love this game, I do, but if there is one thing I am well and truly tired of, it’s having to keep in mind that weird “Favor the shooter” mechanic this game’s netcode abides by. I am well and truly tired of being shot behind cover I am very clearly on my screen behind.
It is definitely this game’s #1 issue mechanically.
That’s what desync combined with “favor the shooter” provides.
Any time an enemy is running away from me around a corner/wall I keep shooting where their head should be… I’ve gotten many kills that way knowing full well that if I was them I would upset.
It’s pretty ridiculous.
Happens to me one times too often, and it’s getting irksome. I haven’t died to it yet during Season 2, but it constantly puts me in a one-shot health state.
Yup I’m sick of it to, like doesn’t bother me if I die before I reach cover, but irritates me when I’m killed when I get killed as get behind cover/behind a wall.
I’ve watched & played Wanted on the 360, bullets don’t curve lol
I want to grind to diamond since I ended up in platinum from my starting matches this season. But every ranked game I play is 90 ping and every BTB game I play is 30 ping.
It really makes it hard for me to get excited to play ranked anymore, which sucks. And I really wanted to get the diamond vehicle emblem to match my weapon emblems. But it just feels like I’m banging my head against a wall over and over again in high ping games😕
Yea, upgraded to a gig and it still happens…
I’m so tired of this games emphasis on “fastest match with the best skill matching”.
These both suck, and are worth tearing the matchmaking system down on their own. In tandem their inexcusable.
I would literally rather walt 10x longer for a better ping match (or more!) Stop putting me in freaking 90 ping games. I’d rather be told there wasn’t a game available at this point tbh.
I hope you know I was brutally critical of 343i 2012-2021. That’s nine straight years. I had to relent at some point when they actually did something good. And without? Who said I’m quitting?
I don’t write breakup letters with this game like so many forumgoers, lol. But keep losing Ashton.

Yeah sometimes I’ll get a kill and think “they were absolutely behind cover on their screen”. Feels dirty. Bad experience all around.
I don’t understand why this is such a problem with Halo Infinite, I’ve never played an online shooter where desync was so much of a problem since the original Rainbow Six on dial up, and even then it was sorted out pretty quickly by the Devs.
Often I’ll get killed where the shooter has no clear line of sight on me, yesterday I had a good example where I was about 4 meters around a corner. It does sort of balance out a bit as often I’ll get kills when I shouldn’t but that’s not the point, this shouldn’t be a thing and it seems to only be a thing in this game.
It’s the game, not your connection. This game is broken and just garbage concerning bugs.
I’m right there with you my fellow Spartan. It’s a drastic in our face issue mechanically speaking and it’s very frustrating.
I’m tired of it too. I think I need to stop playing BTB because it just makes me feel bad about the game. The netcode just can’t seem to cope with 24 active players. It’s not even ping related as far as I can tell. I’ve noticed it on EU servers with under 30ms ping. It’s bad when I’d rather play LSS than BTB.
I feel that. Im hoping to reach diamond too. I keep getting lobbies with short teams or one unranked player whos skill level is in the diamond / onyx range and it either makes for an automatic loss or a cheap win. The weapons and melee also feel really weird now. I know they said ranked wasnt affected by the nerfs but it kinda feels like it is. I also have not won a single match on Catalyst and ive played it maybe 10 times now 
Being a no-good, filthy Pharah main, FTS mechanics honestly suck especially when you can see the effect on projectile attacks disappearing at the hands of a hitscan death.
It’s gotta be an easy thing to implement as it’s so ubiquitous in the industry.

Isn’t the only thing you’re capable of doing is telling non-343 fans that their opinions are stupid? You’ve been ultra insanely in love with 343 for the many months I’ve been on waypoint since December. ANY post that doesn’t openly praise 343 is hated and rebuked by you.

I know I’ve been just as toxic as the people on these forums. I’m fully aware of my history here. I look at it constantly.
However, in recent months I’ve been very critical of 343. I don’t know where you’ve been.
So it took 10 years to finally realize that 343 is nothing more than a money sump, made up of faceless workers who clock in and pass their work off to developers around the globe, led by corporates that have no idea how to manage a group of people, that were banded together because of microsoft’s greed to continue using Bungie’s legacy to make more money?
I’ve liked 343 at the very beginning with 4, because I was excited and a little kid who wanted more of Halo, then a few years later I realized how bad it was and how shallow the game was. Then the MCC came out a broken mess, and h5 had the most offensive customization and campaign I ever saw at that point.
I wanted to help 343 because with Infinite I thought they were finally pulling around to make a good game, their first good game ever! That’s the only reason I signed up for the flights, the only reason I gave my feedback, and the only reason I stayed and recommended the game to all of my friends!!!
Once you understand 343 can’t be helped or guided, you’ll see that the only reason to be on waypoint is to just argue with other people.
