I know this is like beating a dead horse but are other people still having issues with shots not registering or doing the damage they should? I’m trying to figure out what is going on with my game because I just played a few matches of team slayer and I swear it seems like 1/4 of my shots don’t count and I know I’m hitting these people because I kept ending up with the most assist on my team. It seems especially bad with the BR because I would shoot and shoot and shoot and they would never die but after I would get melted in about two shots my teammate would get the kill and I would get the assist, is this lag on my end or desync, I’m just curious what this is. Also, why are the spawns still trash? Was on launchpad and it spawned me on the side of the map with three enemy players surrounding me and one was in a ghost, needless to say I instantly died and my entire team was on the other side of the map. FYI all these games were on 12-16 ping which means I should have amazing connection but it doesn’t play like that.
Can’t speak to the spawns, but the other issues are almost certainly desync related, it’s truly bad at this point for a lot of people, myself included unfortunately.
Glad to know its not just me because it was getting extremely frustrating. I had a feeling something was not right when on 12 ping games I would go to sprint and the game almost has a stutter to it, like its trying to catch up with the action I’m asking it to do and this has been happening a lot more frequently as of the past couple months.
I can have games with 60% accuracy but trouble getting the final headshot on enemies. Something is definitely off with the way shots register in this game, it feels different game to game.
Alright, something is definitely off with this game…Just had a game at 72 ping and it seemed to run smoother and shots were registering better, very next game is a 12 ping game and its back to feeling like shots are not registering and I’m struggling to finish kills. How is it that the higher ping game feels better than the low ping game, that makes zero sense.
Same.
It’s hard to accept the online credibility of Infinite. It’s still a very fun and exciting game for me, but it’s just a super challenge to accept the online challenges of this game.
Makes you wonder if they’re even working on fixing it. most people have been saying this is the #1 problem in the game. Yet it seems to be on the lowest priority for the developer.
Last night I tried to play again with a buddy of mine. We both consistently played very well, good KDA each match and when applicable we were playing the objectives properly and aggressively. Lost the large majority of our games to people mostly at slightly lower levels than I am. The desync is insurmountable for me, truly. I’ve been back and forth on this for 8 months now, but it’s decided, I’m hanging up the helmet. No point in playing a game that is in effect playing against you. Desync is basically the early iteration of Skynet and 343 is Miles Bennet Dyson, and nobody can tell me otherwise. I welcome MW2 with open arms….one week and counting.
What really annoys me is when I get shot after running behind a wall. It is more like a delay in the hit registration.
I mean we all know at this point the game does super screwy stuff at times but it seems to be super random and apparently your ping doesn’t matter at all when trying to figure out why crazy things are happening. Like I stated before, you would think having such low ping would mean amazing and smooth gameplay but that is not the case, its almost like the ping counter is worthless now.
To first answer your question, yes, we all have issues with shot registration.
Don’t look at assist to see if shots are counting or not. Look at damage dealt, accuracy, and shots fired. If you have high accuracy, with low damage, and similar number of shots fired as the highest player on your team then your shots have not registered.
I never thought about looking at those stats to see what was going on, I will be sure to check them out in the future. Thanks for the tip!
Ok, sorry to drag this up again but I have some data from my last match and I need to figure out if I just suck or if my shots legit aren’t registering because I’m about to go insane with this game. Below is all the game data, just curious what can be made of it.
Enemy Team: KDA/Shots Fired/Accuracy/Damage Dealt
8-9-3/ 307/ 21.49%/ 1728
16-10-3/ 357/ 52.10%/ 5049
8-11-3/ 631/ 38.98%/ 3017
7-13-7/ 272/ 38.97%/ 2470
My Team: KDA/Shots Fired/Accuracy/Damage Dealt
13-9-6/ 401/ 51.87%/ 4223
12-12-4/ 395/ 40.00%/ 2873
5-9-5/ 323/ 51.70%/ 1776 <-(ME)
13-9-2/ 342/ 51.16%/ 3627
If anyone can look at this and help me understand what is going on it would be greatly appreciated.
How many shots hit? That is important data here as well. 51% accuracy is about average, so that looks decent. Your damage is low, but the difference between you and the player below you for shots fired is only 19. And accuracy is 51%, with yours being slightly higher. Based on the 1851 damage difference, I would say your shots probably did not register.
I would have to go back and look up the data about how many landed but I do appreciate you looking at that and giving me some feedback.
Anecdotally, and I havent played since before season3 became season 2 (poof magic), 30-60 ping seems to be the sweetspot for stability. Higher or lower pings seem to end up with more dramatic desync as the client tries to correct for others by kneecapping you. Extremely high pings seem to give you the benefit of the doubt on the desync, and really crisp pings like assume your beefy internet can handle the gimping or something. The end result is just awful across the board, and entirely by design so its kind of a non starter for most the playerbase that will never return. Here is hoping for playable by 2030.
