Shop Creeping back to Release Day Prices

Ya’ll remember when 343i were put on blast for their Shop prices being way way way too high?
And the backlash was so bad that they had to Re-adjust the prices, and also break item sets down into individual parts?

Anyone else noticing that Daily deals don’t exist anymore,
And its back to only being weekly Bundles,
And the Prices are starting to look like the deal prices back when Infinite released?

We see you 343i.
We see what you’re doing.
:eyes:

Stop it.

If they keep the prices low, how will they be able to afford server prices while paying devs to try to fix desync? Think people!

Btw they haven’t broken up the bundle items yet.

I have a difficult time getting sarcasm across through text. I agree with OP

I always thought the prices were fair especially when compared to other games on the market. Don’t know why they even got flack for it.

$20 for a set of armor? One third the price of a AAA game? Double the cost of the Halo Reach dlc for the Master Chief Collection for one armor set you unlock in said game for free?

You know I’ve always hated these types of comparisons, hey look at all the garbage on the city streets, oh yeah, but it’s not as much as the city next door they got way more garbage than we do, or, is it ever polluted here the air quality is terrible yeah, but not as bad as the city next door, people use these comparisons all the time, and they don’t make any sense whatsoever, all it does is excuse bad behavior and bad policies.

Halo Infinite and the high prices in their virtual store for virtual colors and textures and armor can’t be excused just because some other game charges more for it, it’s too damn expensive for something that’s not real.

A painting for example is something, when purchased you can bring it home you can put it up on the wall you can put it in storage, but a game’s virtual cosmetic it’s just nothing, it has no value it has no redeemable value and can be deleted by the issuer at any time. It may be fun to collect, but the cost should be minimal. Just the way I see it anyway.

I… don’t know what to make of that.

Even if you’re spending money only on the best deal’s…
like…
What can the price of a whole game get you?

$60’s worth will only get you what, 3 Helmets, 4-6 armor parts, and 14 decals and emblems you’ll never use?

What about the the cost a WHOLE console?
$280.

You can get, what, 1/4 of all the cosmetics in the store?

And you still don’t see why they got so much blowback?

I was going to make a similar post, but this might be tied of Jerry hooks departure.

We asked for lower prices, and they probably aren’t making the money that they need after the adjustment. So if Jerry was pushing for these changes, it’s not surprising that they pushed backed after trying. Might explain the removal of the daily item as well.

This is probably the business team doing what they think is best, which isn’t what fans think.

You think they are fair. Fair enough that is your opinion.
As for comparison, my opinion is that I don’t care what the other games do. I don’t play them. I play Halo. And if I feel like they were over priced, even with a price-drop, then I feel like they are over priced. All that means is that every other game on the market with a shop like this is just as bad, if not worse than Halo Infinite.

The shop is creeping back to the bad prices, on top of still being inconsistent.

The same way devs of good games maintain servers, full price games that are properly tested before release day.

Nah man, 343 is a good honest developer, straight up they wouldn’t do such a thing.

Oh no! However will the company with multi-billion dollar giant Microsoft pay the developers and fix the issues that never should have been present with a AAA game?! How though!

Seriously……

Edit- I saw your second reply. Thanks for the sarcasm clarification.

I mean Halo 4 and 5 are indicators that 343 can make good games, Halo 4 was content complete day 1 and for me is one of my favorites, Halo 5 had it’s issues, but overall I still find it fun, I know 343 can do better than Infinite because I’ve witnessed them do better than Infinite.

I MEAN, they could do better.

But like,
Does anyone honestly think they actually want too?

With 4 they hired developers specifically because they hated Halo.
With 5 they utterly oblitereted classic Halo conventions by pointlessly adopting Call of Duty conventions like Sprint, Clamber, and ADS. And Pay2Win Lootbox Microtransactions for its most popular mode.

With the MMC they added the ground work testing out Manipulative monetization methods through their weird battle pass. Litearly in 2021, they were testing the FOMO style store front, that we now see in Halo Infinite.

343i don’t want to do better.
I would go as far as to say they have been DECIDEDLY tanking the franchise to milk any money left in it.

Really, 343i? All this trouble just for you to go back on your word again? We haven’t gotten more than half of the things you initially promised with this game, and now this?

I loved halo 4. I say to this day halo 4 would’ve been regarded as one of the best halos if it had a separate firefight mode. Not ops, a private and mp fire fight mode. Which we haven’t had since reach btw.

But yeah Im not surprised they tested the water again. They wanted to see if any cash cows are left. Sorry desk jockies, the Fortnite and Warzone kids have gone home. The og fans are here and we’re vocal and mad about these terrible rip offs

No one wanted a f2P halo. The campaign is in gamepass ANYWAYS! what would’ve been different if they launched on game pass as a paid game? Truly. Because now I’m estimating the loss in revenue and bad media reviews are hurting Thier business model WAY more then the comparison of estimated F2P gross revenue to Gamepass paid game estimated gross revenue

Really, you think this is “fair” knowing Infinite is missing more than half a game, and you are comparing Infinite to games that are complete games or games that have triple the amount of content vs Infinite for $60???
