Big yikes. Who knew the secret to overcoming blockers and bugs is to just hire more people?
Hey! You posted something I 100% agree with. Working for a crappy company is never the right answer. Sometimes you are stuck in a bad place though, but during those times you gotta be vigilant for good opportunities to find better work.
I didnât remember you at first, but then I glanced at my notification history. We didnât really talk in circles all that much. When you didnât have anything to say you just replied NULL AND VOID to my comment. Then you peaced out of the convo. I thought it was funny.
Wait⌠To make this comparable to the example weâre talking about, are you saying that when they realized they had bugs, they shouldâve outsourced to external engineers to fix the multiplayer issues?
Iâm not, like I said âessential services.â Food is considered an essential service. When I was a delivery driver I never got holidays off. Didnât mean I liked working for Dominoâs, but I also had bills I needed to pay.
While I donât agree with everything the government does, I also donât have to. I also donât have to follow orders that would easily be deemed unconstitutional. But thatâs not why I joined either. Either way, this particular conversation is something that should be reserved for DMs, lest we open up some hornets nest of mods.
If they couldnât do it themselves, why not? Guess that vacation was more important than giving us a perfect product.
Fast food is not essential, people just donât want to cook hahahaha. I delivered pizzas during covid too and it was great money, I love lazy people.
Because it can take months just to vet outsource companies, and then to get external engineers up to speed on what the code does and the issues theyâre facing, youâre looking at an insane turnaround time AND itâs gonna be expensive as hell.
Also, these issues that weâre seeing might only have started happening once the game became live. The bugs couldâve been completely invisible to the development team for literal years until the game launched. So itâs not that the team canât do it themselves, itâs that they havenât had enough time to isolate and fix the issues, especially since virtually every game studio shuts down in the second half of December.
This games hit detection and desync issues are horrendous and sickening. I cannot tell you how many times Iâm shot after I turn a corner, and how many times I hit an enemy when I know I didnât. But, I have to agree with OP that this game is exceptionally broken compared to the previous games hit detection and lag issues. Whatâs really sad is how much money was put into this game, AND they had an extra year to finish it and it still wasnât near enough. Hopefully they suffer financially like they deserve for the decisions theyâve made.
I donât really think it is either, but for some reason everyone thinks it is lmao
That does make sense, but shouldnât there at least be a small dedicated team working on it already? Direct holidays are one thing, but they made it sound like they are taking off until February.
Make it sound? 343 have been silent for the whole past week and havenât mentioned anything on fixing the current issues which are GAME BREAKING. They either have no idea what the problems are caused by (lmao) or they just do not care.
Really maybe the game should have just been delayed another few months, unless like that other poster just said these issues didnât become known until launch, but giving us a, âwe will fix it after our vacation wooooooohoooo! Pop that champagne guys!â Is insulting and irritating and we as gamers DESERVE better.
What part doesnât make sense? I can explain anything I posted in greater detail.
Thereâs almost certainly people working on it, but thereâs a million different ways they can investigate it. Community could be gathering reports, QA might be trying to reproduce the issues under specific circumstances (various hardware/software/network settings), Engineering could have added logging into the game to send info/reports whenever this desync happens to help isolate the issue. Heck, during server maintenance they might have snuck potential fixes in that we donât know about to try and resolve specific causes of desync.
Almost every studio Iâve seen takes 1 to 2 weeks off, and some employees plan their vacation time around this time of year to get more bang for their buck. So what ends up happening is:
Bug report comes in. They need QA to verify it, but QA is understaffed at the moment due to vacation. Even when they verify it, the engineer responsible for implementing the code that this bug is associated with has also taken time off into January, so someone else might investigate it, but theyâre not as familiar with the code as the engineer thatâs on vacation.
Theyâve only been at the office for like, four days (assuming they took Monday off to observe new years). They probably spent Tuesday catching back up and getting into the groove of things since Wednesday. It hasnât been that long, and the only game breaking thing Iâm even remotely aware of is the BTB playlist.

I canât hahahaha. Please, read your first line again and then read my quote. Are we both speaking English here?
i think all of the bug and desync are in the âslipspaceâ game engine that 343 developed if they would have used unreal we probably would not have any of these issues
Hey look. I misread a word. Fortunately if you just ignore that one line, the rest of my post is very thorough. Would you like for me to edit that line out? It seems to have bothered you quite a bit.
Perhaps youâre right, but they knew fans wanted collision to stay like it always was. Weâve always had hit detection issues but not this bad, seems like the core of it all is rotten to me. Not surprising, look at Battlefield, COD, and other AAA titles and they all run like dump.
I canât tell if this Porrage guy is being seriously or just trying some horrible troll character⌠He has to be joking, right?
You canât tell that I obviously misread a word, but still calmly addressed everything in your post and answered the questions you had?
Heâs the kind of guy youâll never get anywhere with, and that pretty much sums up the internet and Halo Forums since Bungie days. These guys arenât realistic, toxic positivity makes people feel like police in a certain sort.
You mean how I just directly answered his question and offered to explain further because I misread âdoesâ as âdoesnâtâ?
