In the video Halo 4: First look, at 2:55 - 2:57 theres a spartan crouching and moving backwards. If you look closely you can see that he’s shooting left handed.
I’ve seen threads asking for this to be implemented. I wonder if it was specifically for the video or if 343 will add it as an option.

the gun would be on the opposite side of the HUD and you would throw with your right hand… thats a pretty big difference…

it would be a permanent change, as you can see from the Spartan 4 in 2:55 shooting as a righty. it may just be an option you can switch between ! thats pretty cool
This would be cool. This way, left handed people can have a left-handed Spartan.
The first thing my dad said when we got Halo:CE was “Why do I have to shoot righty?”

I’m sure it would be an option. In the video you can clearly see spartans shooting right handed.

Nice spot. This has been discussed for previous installments and was never implemented. Now, finally 343i have (maybe) included it in H4!
For the guy who asked what difference it makes, it makes a big difference. Remember the Rocket hallway in The Pit for example? If you were playing as Red team you could use that wall for cover and poke your gun out just a little bit to shoot down it. If you were Blue team and therefore the opposite side, you would have to step out further otherwise you’d shoot the wall.
EDIT: Unless of course you stood on the left as Blue rather than on the right but that meant you were shooting diagonally.
Even though the map was symmetrical there were differences in cover due to the fact that both teams were right handed. If we could switch to left handed in H4, we could do so depending on what colour we are!
You know it’s probably just a mirrored video of the animation.
It would be awesome if they gave that customization, but I wouldn’t hold my breath

Wouldn’t make a difference for guns since bullets fly out of your head in Halo, not your gun. Only difference it could make is maybe for grenades.
As a lefty myself, it would be neat to have a option to choose which hand your Spartan(and hopefully Elite) would use.
Like said above, it’s probably just a mirror image.
However, this would be really cool if it isn’t just a mirror image.
My friend broke his right hand last year and he learned to play every game on lefty control schemes and now he can’t get off of that mindset. This might help him a bit.

I meant, how would it seriously affect gameplay? They might as well let you use some sort of calibration screen to manually select where you want everything.
Hopefully it will switch automatically if you have a lefty control scheme.
