Shooting Hijackers Off

Okay, I just had a game of Warzone on Sanctum where an enemy left their Scorpion, I took it, and when they boarded at the back, I shot at the rock that I was practically touching, but yet, the boarder did not die. All my shots did was damage the tank until the enemy managed to melee the tank to destruction. That doesn’t make ANY logical sense to me. Especially when I’ve managed to shoot of enemies boarding my Wraith and skyjacking my Banshee (Ultra Banshee to be specific). So why is that you can’t shoot off a an enemy boarding your vehicle when their boarding at the back? Can you kill them when they’re boarding you at the front? I think so, because I’ve seen it a few times.
(Sigh.) Why can’t 343 go back to the way players dealt with hijackers in Halo: Reach? You can shoot them off at the cost of damaging your own vehicle. And all this is just a personal opinion, I liked how in Halo 4, the motion tracker showed what kind of vehicle was around.

I’ve shot hijackers off my tanks many times. You just have to be close enough to a wall or something where the splash damage hits them

I did that, and still, it didn’t work. But it was only that one game that irritated me with the stupid logic.

Maybe, they had over shield? Or one of those weird weapons that let them take a lot of damage.
