Warzone tends to be a back-stabber. I hate it. I deal like more than half damage and I don’t get the slightest assist.

You have to deal damage towards the end near the actual kill to get the assist and/or kill.
Yeah…this a problem in Warzone since day one. So you might wanna make your shots count when the bosses’ health is low.

Yeah I always make it a point to hit the weak spots of bosses near the end of their life.

It’s usually not a problem, but when it’s 3 bosses in a row.
And you have a tank.
I’ve gotten boss kills from the grave…
Certain boss types don’t award kills consistently.
Warden, and vehicles
You can even assassinate the boss and clearly get the kill against it (assuming multiple players are simultaneously shooting the target), but the game sometimes doesn’t reward you for it and thus does not register the medal of the enemy you had just defeated. Great job 343! - #sarcasm
Thats why I wait with attacking higher live bosses until their livebar is nearly down.
I would say that you should avoid dedicating to much time into hitting bosses in regular Warzone. You could take your time to kill bosses in the Warzone Firefight and you will be more likely to get an assist.
I can also say that it’s a bit annoying that if a boss owns the vehicle. It has more health than if something else drives it which makes the boss vehicles feel like they have unrealistic amount of health. I would prefer to see the bosses have the same amount of health as the standard enemies but usually have slightly better AI by dodging attacks and being more accurate at firing weapons.
