Rather than taking away the disable ability from the Plasma Pistol and adding it to the shock weapons, what about the shock weapons are just excellent at taking out vehicle occupants with minimal or no vehicle damage? Or maybe the vehicle suddenly becomes harder to control?
right now tesla grenades are way too strong, even the AI bots Realize how exploitive they are compared to normal frags and Plasma
They could also slow down the vehicle making it easier to board.

Oo, I like that. Takes my idea of difficulty driving in a different way.
Here are my proposed changes:
Less base damage and/or no headshot multiplier
Greater emphasis on chaining mechanic (more range and secondary damage)
Players hit by electricity lose their ability to sprint for a short duration
Damage from primary and seconday shots is dealt over time thus delaying shield recarge for a slightly longer duration
This would make the Shock Rifle much more unique, allowing for more strategic play and gameplay decisions.
