Would it be too OP in multiplayer? Sans all the other upgrades, just take the multiplayer drop wall we have now and add the shock damage to anything fired thru.
As it is now, I rarely see it used. And almost never with any real effect. I know when I pick it up I tend to just drop the walls to get them out of my inventory. Wasteful, I know. Occasionally I’ll put them in a doorway or something, but it’s never been a difference maker.
Adding shock damage gives it offensive capabilities as well as defensive, immediately adding value to it as a sandbox pickup. But would it be too much?
I think the drop wall’s criticisms come from the way it’s intended to be used and the way it has been balanced.
I don’t see it to be used as “I’m getting shot at, time to deploy”. I think the delay in its activation is deliberate to stop it being used this way.
If it had better strength and quicker activation, it would be used this way, become as annoying and OP as armour lock and be nerfed the way it is now.
I see it as “I’m expecting to be pushed from there, deploy now to repel grenades and get 1 or 2 shots up”.
I use it quite a lot and I often use it in oddball, I’ll throw a shield up for the carrier for one direction and defend him from another direction while the other 2 teammates are chasing butterflies and painting rainbows the other side of the map.
