I am having trouble with my Shipmaster build of ghosts vs early Hunter Captain. I simply avoided the hunter at first, just poking around the map with my ghosts to take back nodes and destroy minis. Lost several to a brand, that was my fault. I made sure to spread my ghosts out when attacking further minis. I pumped 8 elite rangers to deal with it along with my usual locusts and a few hunters. This captain player was great though. Looked him up, he’s won 50% of his games exclusively as Colony. Should also note this was 1v1 and on my most hated map Highway. We both made use of the teleporters. I pushed his expansion with locusts then extracted when he rolled over with hunters and locusts of his own. Then the game really ended when I was waiting by a teleporter and the Captian came through first, used taunt and then the rest of his stuff came through. I got completely obliterated. I think this could’ve been avoided if I took out his captain early. This opener doesn’t have too much trouble vs other heroes. But I think letting him keep that captain really snowballed his late game. He murders ghosts though. Is it worth it to pump suicides early to deal with this mess? Letting it get that combat repair with the engineer swarm totally screwed me over around 10 minutes in. Check my build order if you please. Thanks!

Why aren’t you just keeping like 6 suicide grunts behind your forces and teleport them ontop the hero? Personally when I was playing shipmaster exclusively I liked to rush early with a couple of brutes and ghosts grunts and suicide grunts. If I faced a hunter captain stun him with brutes one at a time if no suicide or on mass and teleport your suicide grunts ontop of him
Maybe try a brute rush opener. Mix in some suicides.
Then you can just jump and teleport around the hero, since he’s pretty slow.

General Trex was talking about facing locusts as part of the enemy mix - Glassing is perfect to snipe a few locusts even at lvl 1. At level 3 (when the other key powers are already picked) is a great tool to wipe slower enemy armies thanks to massive AoE.

The extract 2 heals the base as fast as 6 locust. If they are good they will spread out and glassing is not viable. How’s your micro while glassing non existent?

And trolls talk and not challenge, I challenge people so not only they can learn but maybe I will be shown something new and maybe my views will be changed.
