Hello. So i was playing this match where i played against the shipmaster, and it turns out all his cloaking abilities cannot be detected no matter what. This has to be fixed. This was a 50 min 1v1 where i thought he was always taking out my watchtowers and snipers but it turns out he can charge in with his army cloaked destroy my army and head out again. I do not know if this is a bug or not but it has to be fixed ASAP. Let us all abuse shipmaster while we can.
He has the ability where all units get cloaked but this wears off and has a cool down timer. I’ve used it doesn’t last long but does cloack everything
Ikr, the Honor Gaurd cannot be detected by the watchtowers. Its completely overpowered. But what is even more overpowers is the clocked bases. Those are just utterly ridiculous. Only detect units can see them and they have to be at point blank range. I hope 343/CA fixes this.
I don’t know about it being glitched that detection doesn’t work, but the main intended thing I’d want change on detection is the range on it per unit.
SC2 uses a very similar cloak/detection system but the detect units their covers their entire vision range so they can sit back a bit doing their job rather than suicide in. Especially since the sniper is supposed to be a long range unit to begin with, so you really don’t want it having to get so close.

Tell me about it, I am going to play against some AI to see how i can destroy the meta lol.

So what you are telling me is that the snipers or watchtowers have to in close proximity to notice them? That makes no sense snipers are dead within the second because of the honor guard and watchtower can be shut down by a cleansing beam.
Honestly I haven’t played against cloak significantly yet in the main modes, but in Blitz you had to get pretty close. It’s definitely smaller then their vision/gun range there and I’m assuming it’s the same in the main given your problems.
Come to think of it in the campaign you had to get pretty close to some cloaked mines too.
I have never had an issue with cloak.
I can always detect units and buildings - if I can’t I use my commander ability killing them anyways
The cloak range is incredibly short in this game. It allows enemies to brush up against your army if your detect unit is not on the side the cloaked unit is. Also there does seem to be a detection glitch carrying from the last beta. Essentially your detect units will stop revealing cloaked units for no reason at all, but bringing in another fresh detect unit solves this. I have plenty of first hand experiences with this in Blitz. Usually cloaked reavers get under under my nightingales but I’m forced to spawn a wolverine/sniper for my Cyclops’ to kill it because the Nightingale decided to go on a coffee break. The glitch may also suddenly fix itself, allowing the unit to start detecting again. Quite a serious issue.

If you are 100% certain that you can then this must be a bug, even with a sniper on the offense or watchtower on the defense my army and turrets would stand completely clueless.

Thanks for sharing you’re first hand experience with this. I will try and reach out to them.
He’s not broken. You need to deploy units that detect stealthed enemies, i.e. Elite Rangers, Snipers, Reavers, Nightengales, etc. I’ve won numerous times against the Shipmaster, and you can, too; you just need the right strategy.

Strange. I’ve never encountered this glitch. Record a clip and send it to Dan Ayoub, Unyshek and/or Creative Assembly.

My friend did you not read? Maybe i did not explain myself well enough, i apologize.
I played a 50 min game against Shipmaster and used everything at the unsc disposal to detect cloaked units, and could still not detect them. He kept on destroying my armies while my troops just stood there.

Good idea. I think I might already have one somewhere one my XB1 from the beta. I’m assuming they have Twitter accounts (CA obviously)?

Dude, I think that lot’s of stuff are broken right now. For example, the glassing beams >.> .
However, I haven’t really had any problem with the cloaking (but then again, I don’t even think I’ve seen anyone use it lol)

Sounds like a shoddy shipmaster if he wiped your army multiple times and never destroyed your base.

Someone already clarified and I said it wasn’t most likely a glitch that they overlooked. I also suggested you record a clip of the glitch and send it to someone in 343 or CA via twitter or something.

Read the thread. I read the post you are talking about and before you even posted i said i would reach out to them.
It seems like the discussion has ended so no need to reply
