I’m asking the shipmaster mains if he is viable in 3v3s. Every time I try to use his hit and run it seems like I just walk into a 3v1. I usually start off with a few jumpbrutes and ghosts after I make sure I’m not being rushed myself, then move onto locusts then transition into banshees. When it works it’s awesome but again I have the problem of all three players defending against me. Any tips?
usually go sup, gen, sup, rracks, supp make brutes(only around 4-5) recycle for gen and then ghosts.
I think he’s viable across most game modes. You just have to have a lot of map awareness and be good at tracing where enemies are on the map. The honor guard is a great harassment tool and the ability to select fights with enemies or bring them to you with displacement makes him an excellent supportive leader as well.
I mean I think so. Double teleport upgrade to move locusts anywhere plus using displacement and extraction to keep your locust alive absolutely. I think he is super solid for any team play.
Yes. Outside of Serina, he’s the best 3v3 leader. I’ve solo’d entire teams with him because you can sneak over to a guy’s base, beam it down and then teleport to his main. The whole process only took about 45 seconds…
Think about that for a second. It only took me 45 seconds to destroy what it took them 8 minutes to build. I’ve also had several games where I get Prestige 1 Locusts because extraction is ridiculous.
It’s even worse on Highway. You can go through the teleporter, beam down the 2 bases on the sides and then teleport to a guy’s main. Just make sure to send a Grunt or scout through it to make sure their army is standing on it.
Now if you want to play fair and not be a Locust spammer, then Idk how to help ya lol. I’ve seen a Ghosts, Grunts and Engineers early game strat with a transition into hunters, rangers and air and etc.
So use only locusts to harrass? I’m ok with that, I’ll try it and see how it goes. Only built brutes because I really liked them. But I like getting messages of people saying they hate me more; so I’ll give it a shot.
Even without locust i think he is very viable. The maps r bigger so being able to be anywhere pretty much at any time is extremely helpful. His level 2 teleports and displacement can easily make 2 armies vs 1.

He’s good but not at his full capability. Banshees are always a viable option if your UNSC opponent builds air. If you look at the BO of some of the top Shipmasters, they mainly build locusts and a counter unit depending on what the enemy build. It’s pretty much between locusts/reavers or locusts/hunters/elite rangers in the late game.

I do not care about top leaders because its vague. banshees go well with mass cloaking

Not sure what you mean by vague, but in that situation I’d honestly think that Arbiter is better. Rage boosted cloaked banshees liquify bases.

Yeah he is and always will be because the character is 90% sharp cheddar.
Shipmaster has always been great in the game, but I think he really shines in teams when he’s utilized as support. His leader powers alone are great for support and harassment roles.
He’s my favorite leader for Blitz too. I abuse the tele-blasts as much as I can.

I think this is the best answer for the current meta.
my buddy uses shipmaster i use serina, i support him when he needs it dropping down powers to slow down enemies just enough for his leveled up honor guard to run away, this hit and run strategy constantly harasses the opposing team
