I’m getting pretty sick of having to explain that NINJAS ARE NOT SAMUREI. The shinobi helmet is obviously designed after a samurai helmet, yet 343 states it is “ninja like”. The samurei were the enemies of the ninja. That is why the shinobi helmet it’s complete -Yoink-.
sickest armour ever
Samurai weren’t necessarily the enemies of ninjas, they were just different things altogether.
I do think it’s weird that they named samurai armor after a ninja though, it doesn’t matter all that much to me anyways.
The armor itself looks a little odd with its… its protrusions?

This…
Shinobi is the art of stealth and what not that is deemed of stereotypical Ninja…
Samurai is a noble position in the Military but it was also a lifestyle…Samurais are very Loyalty and Honor based and typically masters of the art of swordsmanship, Archery, Calligraphy and all sorts…

They actually were the enemies of ninjas. Ninjas were a guerrilla force of civilians opposing the samurai rulers, get your history right.
“According to the historian Steven Turnbull, the ninja were what we would call “guerilla warriors”. Their provinces were under constant threat from surrounding Daimyo (warlords) and they were relatively impoverished and unable to field large armies of well-equipped Samurai warriors.
So, they engaged in what we now call “assymetrical warfare”, using stealth, infiltration, Assassination, and so forth against their Samurai enemies.
So yes, they did fight, but not along the lines of big pitched battles with Samurai on one side and ninja on the other.”

Thank you, Spartan you got to it before I could, and yes OP the helmet is more samurai then ninja. Just rock the TEISHIN helmet with the SHINOBI armor, and boom ninja Spartan. they should still bring back the Hayabusa.

Agreed, it looks to me that they’re making alot of armor that is similar to Hayabusa, which I’m happy about, still waiting for a katana though.
All I noticed was that it looked rather ridiculous. The spider looking one looked better.
It’s a nice MJOLNIR variation of the traditional samurai look, which goes well with our paintball team logo.

To be completely honest, the Halo 3 Hyabusa armor was more of a samurai… and you could get a katana for war games! Shinobi is a reference to a ninja video game, as well as being an attack move in a ftp computer game. The armor does look like a mixture of samurai and ninja combined though… maybe they were trying to also pay homage to the Hyabusa? Who knows…
Cut them some slack, they’re Sci-Fi developers, lol.
helioskrill helmet - shinobi armor
Maybe future space ninjas are samurai.

It would have been nice to have an armor set that fits its description though. It’s as simple as wrapping a black cloth around the helmet. Speaking of which, there hasn’t been many truly outlandish armor designs since reach.
…
Are you guy’s really fighting about shiboni being samurai like and not ninja like
I miss my Legendary flaming helmet from Reach!

Well yes…Hayabusa Armor was meant to be based of Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden.
