I’ve been enjoying the Halo Infinite flight a lot, and overall I love the feel and balance of the weapons. The only nitpick I have at this point is that shields recharge while you are sprinting away from an enemy. I wish this would change before launch and go back to having shields not recharging while you are sprinting, otherwise it makes running away from an encounter too strong of a strategy, and it isn’t really fun to play against that. Idk though what does everybody else think?
That might be a ranked playlist setting. Like grenade hit markers not being in ranked, we may also see no shield recharge.
Overall I don’t see it as a big deal considering how fast sprint is compared to base movement speed. Also being able to shoot right out of sprint makes this even less of a necessity.
I thought the same at first. But honestly, you sprint so slowly that I can’t see many escapes actually happening. That, and I swear that the the shield recharge delay is longer while sprinting.
Because sprint is not much faster regular movement it might be appropriate to slow the shield recharge by an extra second or two instead of making it stop completely. Either way, you should not be able to recharge shields normally when sprinting.
I like that you can sprint and have your shield recharge. It was like that in reach, right? In halo 5, shields not recharging because of sprinting kept me from using sprint overall. Now that we don’t spawn with the evade/boost ability, how else are you supposed to run for cover so that you’re shields can recharge?

The same way you do in every other game. Know your positioning, know how to find cover without sprint. Otherwise the game just gets annoying, any time you shoot a player one time they’ll just run away with no punishment.

except that sprinting in this game is literally like 3-4% faster, nobody is zooming around the map like sonic to make their escape
If they remove shield recharge while sprinting then they need to up the sprint speed, because right now it’s barely faster than the normal movement speed.
I think that is better as it, make the fights more fast and is more enjoyable

You could ping them before they get to cover so while they’re in cover you’re teammates know where he’s Hiding.
I see what you’re saying as well, I’m sure they thought about all these little things and it all has to blend together in the end. Hopefully they keep everyone happy by hearing player’s feedback and implementing those features or tweaks into their game.
I think the only reason this was the case in H5 was because you could literally zoom across the map with thrusters.
Sprint is barely – and I mean barely – faster than base speed. Sprint’s main purpose is to facilitate things like sliding. The speed boost is so negligible that someone moving at normal speed almost keeps pace with a sprinter. Having shields not recharge would make sprinting in its current state unusable. I think it’s perfect where it is, actually.
I think the slow sprint is a fair tradeoff for being able to recharge them again. It was necessary in 5 considering how huge all those maps were but now I don’t see it as an issue.

Very much this and also there’s no advanced movement like in 5 so it has to be this way. If they made it so shields didn’t recharge during sprint it would promote defensive play all the time.
Maybe the maps are made to run for cover and to have your shields recharge at the same time? I would be surprised if they switched that feature before launch. We shall see how the majority of players react.
I really like it the way it is. I hope they don’t change it.

true, they designed the maps around the gameplay mechanics even that little extra speed with sprinting is not effective in escaping scenario, the maps are pretty tight and everyone in your face so charging the shield with sprinting is 100% logical, and needs to be remained as it is.
