I’ve always wondered, do energy shields function at all regardless of whether the Spartan is wearing a helmet? Or is the helmet required to be able to form the shield? Lore explanations?
Hmm…that is actually an interesting question. You think it may be in their helmet with the rest of their modules. But where would they stick something like a armor generator for a full suit of Spartan Armor?
The shield generator should be located in the chest, right? The helmet is to bring the HUD and give you protection, especially against bullet weapons, since the spatan’s armor is made of titanium and also because titanium is bullet-proof. I think that it’s also so you can activate your abilities (like the Spartan abilities). I mean, the helmet that is neorally connected to the brain is also connected to the rest of the armor, and without it you can really only use the armor for protection and nothing else, kinda like ODSTs without their helmet in firefight in H3: ODST (but of course, without HUD).
Well, as Halo 4 and I think in Reach showed, Armor Abilities were on the lower back.
Hm. I never really knew what to think. I’ve always wondered since I’ve started writing short stories with my Reach Spartan, and have avoided opportunities to decide for myself. Thank you guys so much for the insight!
It’s likely on everytime, there is emitters around the armor, I believe they are those tiny lights on a Spartan armor.
