I went to E3 this year it was really fun. But when i played Warzone ( don’t get me wrong I love Warzone) I noticed something about spartans shields. In previous Halo games it took an entire clip to take down a persons shield. I like that because you really needed to aim and shoot to get a kill. However in Halo 5 it only takes 2-to-3 shots to the head (with shields) to get killed or get a kill. I hate that. The way shields are programmed in this game so far makes it feel like i’m playing call of duty. We Halo fans all know we don’t want that happening. I hope 343 is reading this because if they aren’t then Halo will never feel the same.
Aside from specific post-CE automatics, that’s not true. You could get multiple kills with a single magazine.
Also the lowest shots to kill in Halo 5 for any rifle is four.
Pretty sure the shots-to-kill are the same (BR is still 4-shot as far as I’ve seen), but I think some of the weapons have increased rates of fire which can lead to faster kill times in general.
Haven’t played since the beta but BR was 4 shot, Dmr was 5 , light rifle was 6 un-scoped and 3 scoped I believe. Though it might have changed. For me things felt completely balanced for the first time ever. I found a use for all the different weapon type’s.
Also keep in mind that the Warzone build they showed at E3 and other events has been tweaked to make the game play faster. Warzone takes a long time and to get as many people through on the show floor they had to speed things up.

In past Halos, it didn’t matter where you shot an enemy it affected the shields the same. The only exception to this rule was the Sniper, where a headshot would pierce shields and kill the enemy. Has this changed? I thought the beta played the same way Halo has always played.
I thought the beta played well. Any shield value lowering is because of all the new movement features like thruster pack they must lower the shield value so you can still kill people. It the person does not use dodging to their advantage then yes the kill time is low, but if they do then it is higher because not all bullets hit.
I played the beta, the shield value is fine. They’re very useful and still an integral part of the gameplay.
Based on the beta, this is not the case. Warzone is a very large mode with lots of stuff going on. Even in ‘normal’ Halo it can sometimes seem as though you’ve died from a single BR burst or something of the sort because you simultaneously take damage from some other source you didn’t notice (explosion, etc.). I wouldn’t be surprised if with all the stuff going down in Warzone, with damage possibly coming from a bunch of different directions, it only seemed as though the kill times were faster.
Also, the shields definitely do a lot: playing Arena vs Breakout in the beta showed that to be true. Playing without the shields makes you MUCH weaker.

I haven’t played warzone, but I played the beta and I agree.
I know they upped the kill times a few seconds after the beta (because of feedback) but I don’t know if warzone has those updated settings or not.

I think you’re just bad at the game if you think it takes an entire mag to kill someone
What a dumb thread.

Lol xD but i agree with ghost, i get ar kills in halo without expending a mag to take down shields. Also i normally can get 2 kills with 1 br clip (h4, h2)
The shields arent weaker, the spawn weapons are just more useful.
But since Halo 3 it never took an entire clip to kill somebody. Maybe with the AR because most people just sprayed hoping to get a kill but the BR was easily able to pick up a triple with one clip and now the DMR is quite able to pick up multiple kills with one clip and that’s just two weapons. Needler, carbine, brute shot, type 25 -spiker, etc were all able to pull off at least a double kill before reloading. Weapons like the AR or pistol were different but most guns dating back to Halo 3 were able to pull off multiple kills with one clip. Even Halo 2 it was possible though i think it was bit harder back then.
