Do you think Halo 5 should still have just the shield bar on the top centre of the HUD or should it show the shield and also a health bar (like in Reach)? Also should health still regenerate, partially regenerate (like in Reach), or not at all (which means health packs)?
Top-center like in Halo 3 and Halo 4. It’s faster-paced and it’s nice not to have to worry about healthpacks. And it makes no canonically for Chief’s Mark VI armour to have to lose its built-in biofoam healing mechanism unless his armour is badly damaged somehow.
I think that top-center is the easiest to see through peripheral vision.
I prefer complete regeneration of health (Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4) because it means that I can approach every engagement independently of previous engagements in the lifetime, not having to worry about being handicapped from previous engagements.
And I would like it if there was a HUD indicator of the health, even if it automatically fully regenerated. I would like to know exactly how close to death I am.

I’ve always found the ‘onboard biofoam’ thing kind of odd. I mean, where does it store all this foam? The MKVI, especially the original bungie version, is much, much slimmer than the MKV. Healthpacks and the cannister from ODST both make biofoam look like it isn’t the most compact stuff in it storage form.
I like reach’s system where there’s partial regen. This shows the suit helping, but shows its not infinite in supplies.
A shield bar in the top middle of the screen is easiest to see but also obstructs the most important part of the player’s view. Use the “four corners” method for HUD widgets like Halo 2.
I like it at the top but I would like a health bar as well; only to show your health but still be full regeneration.

I would however like to keep the current health regeneration system.
I agree with most here, we should have a health indicator but health should fully regen.
Have the HUD stay the same, just add a health bar with full regen health. Like someone else said I’d like to know exactly how close to death I am.

This exactly.

From a cannon stand point you are right. The only thing is that if heath packs are put in all it does is punish people for winning duels. Instead of winning and then getting your life back, you are at a severe disadvantage because the next time you come across someone all they would have to do is body shot you once instead of headshot you once, this made me angry all the time in Reach.

Double exactly.
