Shield Recharge... To slow?

what I’m finding is that if I walk out into the open on just about any big team map, I recieve a hail of precision rifle fire, which is great, because it means that noobs cant run across the map willy nilly. however, when i quickly duck into cover, it seems like forever until my shields recharge, much more so than other halo games.
I just don’t really enjoy hiding behind rocks for half a match just so i dont find myself dead.
dont get me wrong, the requirement to take cover for a few seconds is great, and it is certainly more prominent in this game than the past, but i think we could make the wait just a little bit shorter. additionally, i cant even notice the shield recharge perk.

if anyone else has noticed this or thinks it could be improved, please comment.

YES!!

That is the first thing I noticed when I started to play Halo 4. I hate how long it takes. It really slows down gameplay unless you play CoD style where you just run and gun and instaspawn.

I do agree with you here. The time it takes shields to recharge seems on par with Reach, aka forever. I thought Halo 2 and 3 had it perfect. If this game is supposed to be faster paced, then not having to spend all day behind cover would certainly make sense.
