Shield Recharge Delay For Sprinting?

For the flight, I have noticed that while I feel sprinting is balanced well and people running from gunfights is not a huge issue as the speed is balanced well. However, now that the radar has reverted, there is essentially no reason to not sprint ever, since you can shoot directly out of it and move slightly faster, can slide with no penalties. Additionally slide is the real advanced movement mechanic in this game, and it can be used rather annoyingly to avoid gunfights.

Why not bring back H5’s no shield recharge when sprinting to prevent evasive slide and give some tradeoff for being able to slide.

You could argue that there is no reason to not sprint, you could also argue that there is not reason to sprint. Because sprint barely exists in this game.

There is a reason, to Slide. What I am saying is there is currently no tradeoff for that benefit.

No. also there is out of sprint delay , i dont think it was there in the previous flight tho which is odd.

The reason for one mechanic is just to use another mechanic? That’s so weird to me. But yeah, you’re right, that is the reason.
The trade is reticle preparation, and not being able to move one way and look another. Personally I feel punished for sprinting in Infinite so I barely do it anymore unless I’m gonna slide.

now that sprint barely increases your movement speed, recycling halo 5’s shield recharge delay would make sprint worthless. it is kinda weird that there’s now 0 incentive to walk, but any attempt to nerf sprint outside of its speed would be harmful to the game.

In my opinion, people will sprint indefinitely away from gunfight thinking that shield will recharged while being chase, standing still or walking will stop the flow of players movement.

When walking and waiting to shield recharged, there is a habit of starting to sprint again, and the shield delay start all over again. You flow of gameplay slow down.

Example when trying to avoid a gun fight or a teammate need help on the other side of the map, and you need to get there quickly. There mind instantly telling it to sprint. I think a lot of people is use to sprint.

Sprint barely increases your walking speed. Is a fair trade.

There is a delay, when sliding and when coming out of it. You don’t have control of it, its a risk and reward. And you have to build up speed for slide. So it’s pretty balance.
