Hey, I’m really curious about the shields in Halo 4, I’ll explain:
-In Halo 3, 4 shots with the BR to the head was a kill, if you missed the shot or shot somewhere else apart from the head, you wouldn’t kill in 4 shots. That was good because you had to have aim to fire to the head only and gave an advantage to players who actually aimed to the head.
-In Halo Reach this was changed. No matter where you shot, the damage was the same (I’m not sure about the “title update” they did, but I’m almost sure It was just to reduce bloom), it did not matter where you shot. It only did matter when the enemy was without shields, but what’s the point? You could just spray n’ pray and kill more quickly than actually timing your shots and aiming to the head.
My question is: How is the shield system in Halo 4? Is it like Halo 3 or like Halo Reach? I really hope it’s like Halo 3.
Um, I’m pretty sure in every Halo game it didn’t matter where you shot them.
I would have to respectfully disagree because I clearly remember in Halo 3 it being necessary 12 BR bullets to the head for a kill. If you shot somewhere else, you did less damage to that enemy, therefore not killing in 4 shots.

When the shields are up, it doesn’t matter where the bullet lands, the damage remains the same. This perceived discrepancy is because of the BR spread, which at medium-long ranges could mean that if your reticule was not perfectly centred, then a bullet from the burst could miss.
Fire up Halo3 and test this out. If you walk up to someone and shoot them three times in the body, and once in the head, then the 12th bullet will pierce the shields and kill them. If you walk up to them and shoot them perfectly four times in the head, then the 12th bullet will pierce the shields and kill them.
I thought the same thing about headshots when shields were up, until someone challenged me on it, and I double checked it with the game myself.
