Remember the shield recharge HUD effects back in summer 2020 that everyone disliked? And how they changed it for the multiplayer and everyone was happier.
In the laters gameplay I’ve seen 2 different HUD effects. One very subtle (and my own preference) and another very yellow and in your face.
My own opinion is that any effect aside from the audio and bar refilling is pointless, but I’m ok with the subtle effects.
What do you think about that? Does this matter at all to you?
Anyway, I’m guessing the different effects are related to the different stages of the shield core. Which seems to make your energy shield stronger.
Firstly, what are your thoughts on that? Could that potentially have weird negative effects on the gameplay? Or are you all for it?
Secondly. Do we actually know 100% that those summer 2020 HUD effects are gone? Or could they simply also be for an upgraded shield core?

I would say that this is an issue that can wait until launch as this would be very fixable. I think that the effect changing for different states of the shield core would be a cool little detail and Halo is known for it’s cool little details, yet I would say that if it intrudes on the gameplay then it should be cut
Personally, I think that the effect as a whole is good for immersion and is another visual and an audio indicator that the shield is recharching so I would say that the removal of it would make that game worse as a whole.
Actually, I correct myself. The current effect that was shown off in the Gameinformer gameplay of it is too much and in-your-face. I think it should be toned down massivly to a slight effect, as this is too much

Absolutely, I don’t think anything we ask for at this point can be expected to change before launch.
It’s interesting that it improves immersion for you. For me it actually has the opposite affect.
I’m ok with it. But I also agree with the other thing you said, that there might be point where it becomes a bit distracting. And that’s the point where it goes from pointless (to me) to slightly annoying.
