Shield colors

Is there any word on if we can turn off shield colors and have normal looking shields? Not a fan of the color coated shields.

It does kind of get in the way of knowing if shields were dropped. Half the time, I don’t even know when someone is 1-shot

I have a feeling that they will be adding many more setting options with the final release, but who knows if that option will be one included with those changes.

I found if they are sparking with electricity their shields are down , have you changed your graphics settings at all?

I see the sparking, barely. Not like earlier Halos where the difference between shields on and shields off were night and day. The outlines probably don’t help. My graphics are probably fine; it’s XBoxOne on HD or QHD resolution.

You see a bunch of flickering or like…idk…an animation indicating shields are broken. The spartan is like coated in his broken shield. -helpful for when you go into a room and see an enemy running away from your team mate or hiding to regen

If you are in a fight tho, there is a LOUD audio cue for when the enemy shields pop either by you, or a team mate. LOUD. If you haven’t heard this yet or…simply haven’t noticed it…go into the training thing or even a weapon drill and just pay closer attention and then you’ll pretty much never miss it again.

  • My problem is when they have the same color of armor as the outline/shield or a red team mate. Then I thought maybe that why everyone changed it to yellow then I had the same problem with people with yellow armor.

I have still yet to have any issue with this, lots of people must have horrible eye sight.

The shields color are wrong because of three things :

  • The wounded Spartans became all colored, the light is too bright and artificial, it give the impression to play to a game for children
  • The damage shield can be see from afar
  • Having a red allie or a blue ennemy with opposite color shield is really disturbing

The shield work very well before, 343 is making things worst

Just wish there was a way to turn the color shields off and just have normal shields like in cut scenes.
