Shield colors are too bright

There was a lot of topic on that subject, some people like the new system and other don’t, but we all know it’s here to stay. I just hope they will improve it because there was 3 things who were wrong during the flight for me :

  • The wounded Spartans became all colored, the light is too bright and artificial, it give the impression to play to a game for children
  • The damage shield can be seen from too far, you can’t hide in this condition
  • Having a red allie or a blue ennemy with opposite color shield is really disturbing

So I hope they will improve it to be less bright and artificial

I find the outline aren’t really necessary, our friend are already tag, so a spartan without a tag is inevitably an ennemi

I kind of like them the way they are, and they fit the very stylized artstyle, in my opinion.

I’d prefer it if they were toned down too. For example I was gonna use one of the yellows to mimic the past Halo’s shield colours more closely but they’re all so damn bright and opaque. More than changing the current ones though, I’d rather they simply add more colours. Would be cool if we could scale opacity too.

They are definitely way to bright and look way too cartoony. it completely clashes with the rest of the visual style in the game. I also agree with your other points mentioned. The shield opacity and outlines have been my biggest negative critique since I first saw Halo Infinite gameplay and played the Flight. Not to mention no collision…

Shields have always been bright. Every Halo game, they’re bright yellow (or blue) and when you lose your shields it’s basically a flashbang to anyone at point blank range.

The reason shields are bright in Halo is to know when you or an enemy has low or no shields. It’s combat feedback. I don’t want dark sheilds and neither do you, because you’d never know whether or not your enemy has low shields or not. You also have an outline in Halo Infinite and are brightly colored in the other Halo games so hiding after getting shot is always going to be difficult.

When Halo says “Energy Shield” I don’t think candlelight

Of course shieldd were bright this last twenty years and nobody complained, but now they are very too bright, it’s really too much compare to before
