Looks like none of my White creations earned any affection from Bravo this time, meaning I need to start upping my game to match you fine peoples. Well done to those who got their work featured!
@Chocobo007: A very nice piece with great placement of the skybox’s light, paired with the SpLaser! Impressive too if that’s a raw screenshot from Matchmaking. I think the only thing that could help it improve is maybe a little less light, maybe by moving the camera across so the SpLaser covers it more?
@MrMartini85: I was wondering if someone would make something like that with the Banshee. It’s a great piece you’ve done with the vista of the map taking the precedence of view and the Banshee’s got some good motion to it as well. Nice stuff!
With my attempts for Ragnarok, my final pieces really didn’t have much in the way of identifying them to originating form the map, but I’m happy with the results. I roped in my fellow Grifball Commentator DJ Blue PDX and we donned some ODST armour to make these Screenshots below, using the Juicy, Next Gen and Colorblind FX to add the colour and shadow:
- Fired Temper This was taken beneath the wing of the Pelican as DJ Blue used his Armour Ability to get that orange glow effect. I rarely use the Next Gen FX, but it really helped acentuate the floor’s shadows from the rocks and such. My favourite from this batch without a doubt.
- Hell Laser - Trying to get the timing on this one was difficult, with the thin strip of laser light, plus the pose and angle of my Helljumper. Happy with the end result and the neutral background.
- Flying Hogs - Naturally, some messing around with a Warthog and the man cannons were in order, making this piece.
- Foreshadowed - Taken at the back end of the map, I let the skybox’s natural lighting provide the dark shadowing over my Spartan so it looked a little more artistic and giving an ODST vibe more.

Personally, I like ‘The knight’. The energy sword seems to over power the other picture.

Staden Shyre
I worked with two of my friends on creating this massive city, it actually takes awhile to get places in a warthog, more so on foot. I wanted to make a screenshot advertisement of Staden Shyre, but as I suspected, a map this size requires more than just me with a hologram to get the perfect picture. I’ll need to have “Real” gameplay footage to get this to work.
I think the picture would look better with the Hologram on the left side of the picture so that you can see the face, and have a tank or something on the ramp in the background, either firing or blowing up.
What do you guys think?

A few Ragnarok ones:
Ragnarok: this one hasn’t much “Ragnarok” in it, but I like the Spartan I designed a lot.
Ragnarok Classic: nice vista shot (see if you can spot the Spartan)
It is 6:30 PM US East Coast time, there are a few shots on the community browser ,some Aug 26-27th dates.
Filtering for “Ragnarok” still shows no file found for the last seven days. So thats it for the news, now over to the weather desk - HOT!

@Lixae - I like “The Lone Tower”. I think the red is unique.
@Sprymetal - “Zeus” is my favorite of your two. This is not really my style so it is difficult for me to give meaningful suggestions. For me, most of my shots I like to try and get a really crisp spartan in the shot with everything else being additive. I know there are others on the forum that are wizards with multiple effects.
@Vinyl Leader - My favorite is “Shield Break” Well done. I had to go back twice to determine that “The Knight” barely edged out “Prepare Yourself”. I think the definition of the hand holding the sword hand piece was the tie breaker for me.
@Receptor17 - “Flying Hogs” is my favorite. I also liked “Hell Lazer”, The Spartan lazer is so essential on that map for Big Team and Heavies.

@MrMartini - “I Believe I Can Fly” is a great panoramic, really like how you got blue sky above the mountain.
@Chocobo007 - “Capture the Flag” is a nice shot. I find it is difficult to get a shot with enough clarity of your subject matter and background with the bleaching effects of the sun on Outcast. Angle for the amount of glare seems very important.
for me, I have 2 shots for Ragnarok.
“Grey Teams Turn” (Just finished reading the Cole Protocol) Getting into the Mantis BTB blue spawn, Juicy and CB.
“Burning, Boiling and Backed Up” Juicy and CB.
I also took this one getting into the Mantis after it lost its shields, it did not seem to me to have enough Ragnarok to submit.
“Going Critical” Same pose as Grey, red side BTB spawn on map. Juicy and CB.
Lastly, from a map given to me by Lizking:

Well done, sir. That Spartan is actually a she; I really like the female Air Assault armor (probably thanks to Kat) with the Mark V legs (that space diaper just works well on female spartans, though unfortunately they’re not as curvy as they were in Reach). I have a hand full of different Spartans I use for screenshot variety (most common one is the standard sage Mark V male).
Out of curiosity, are you from the UK? I had to look up “Wellies”. I’ve always known them as “galoshes” here in Ohio. But thanks to the Ricky Gervais podcast, I’ve learned all kinds of fun synonyms for unmentionable things. I can’t hear the term “-Yoink!- Pack” without cracking a smile now.

I like the screenshot named “Ragnarok” from your bunch. The colors of the armor blend well and the background of rocks feel natural. You can pretty much feel the fluent, calm motion of the Spartan in the shot. On top of that, you chose a nice angle to picture it from, nice work man.
