> I decided to play on one of my favourite Halo 3 map remakes, Narrows (the one that was essentially a massive bridge with man cannons on one side) and I tried to go with a faded memory/flashback kind of look, akin to Red vs Blue when Church/Epsilon is inside his own mind.

Hey Receptor 17, I love that screenshot! Nice perspective behind your character and well done with setting the mood as a flashback to an old map, and reminiscing on past memories. I’ve only seen this pic on my computer, but I must say the lighting is brilliant and I like the use of Speed Boost.

I made one screenshot for the Classic theme and I hope you all like it. I decided to play on one of my favourite Halo 2 and 3 map remakes, Zanzibar/Last Resort. I enjoyed playing on Zanzibar in Halo 2 and Last Resort in Halo 3. I’ve had lots of great and fun memories on both maps, including my first-ever game of ā€œPerfectionā€ in Halo 3.

I used a map remake of Zanzibar on Impact, made by Slavoj L Zizek. Also, like Receptor 17, I made a screenshot with the idea of making it look like a flashback. My screenshot, in particular, was made to look like a photograph or memory of the map like when you close your eyes and remember all the fun moments you had playing the game. It almost looks like part of a dream, I think. The special fx I used were Colorblind and Nova.

Zany Nostalgia
by oObeX

My screenshot is titled as ā€œZany Nostalgiaā€ because moments from Zanzibar were wacky, fun, and awesome for me. Zanzibar gets lots of love and remakes for all of its good nostalgia. Also, Zany has the first three letters of Zanzibar. XD

Good luck to everyone in this Classic theme.

Another week before we see the next bulletin. There are several really nice shots already tagged for the Classic theme:

@o0beX - I really like how ā€œZany Nostalgiaā€ turned out. Black and white was an excellent choice!

@Receptor17 - Well done on ā€œNarrow Targetā€, very good cross map shot…. :wink:

@ComicBeast1212 - My favorite of your RvB theme is ā€œWhy are we here?ā€ Watched the 1st season recently. I thought some of the writing was great, although sometimes a little out there. I enjoyed it enough to watch all the 1st season episodes. :slight_smile:

@MrMartini85 - ā€œBattle Creek IIā€ (Are ya’ll starting a CB theme…) and ā€œSpace Zanzibarā€ are my favorites.

@JDHarbs - Thanks for the heads up on where to find the ā€œclassicā€ maps. Really great custom made maps and very creative forgers.

These are my submissions: I dropped 3, but it should have only been 2, (or 0) Halo 4 was my 1st game and other than campaign on 3, I have no experience with the maps or playing multiplayer on any of the previous Halo’s. I really am looking forward to November and MCC.

ā€œThe Narrows Engineeredā€ I chose the engineer helmet to give it the flavor that this was a ā€œforgedā€ map. I really wanted to try and do justice to the effort that went into forging these maps. The fact that I am explaining it means I know I came up a little short this time. Juicy is the only additional lighting.

ā€œWorking the Cornersā€ Juicy and CB. I have seen a couple of 4X4 matches on the Pit and it seemed to me the sniper and BR were the weapons of choice.

On a more positive note, Josh 0iaH has created screenshot Montage #16 and several of the screenshot forum contributors are featured. Congrats!

Good luck to all those submitting screenshots for the ā€œClassicā€ spotlight theme (Ya’ll have created some really nice shots) and looking forward to seeing everyone’s screenshots in the forum.

Here are screenshots of some game play. A few of the pictures were auto named, so I didn’t pick the names.

First ā€œTrackā€ is great (gave it a like). Second ā€œTrackā€ hurt my eyeballs :frowning:

Hello all! How have we been lately? As you can probably see, my level of screenshot-ing has been diminished to two Spartans looking at each other (-.-) .
However, I want to start creating Halo photography for simply fun as well as the Bulletin Spotlight competition entries.
I saw that I blazed my way into Josh’s montage (how? O.o I was shocked…), along with many other of you talented folks! Congrats to all! :slight_smile:

Anyway, reviewing time… I saw some really great shots on the Race theme last week, but I will start on the current ā€˜Classic’ theme to save from clogging the page with bright cyan text that some dislike. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@Martini:
LOVE ā€˜Space Zanzibar’. From the position to how the FX works in with the background and visor, it is a great shot.
While I took the easy route with Recon sets and such for my Halo 3 type shots, my mind failed to make connection that you did with Raider and Hayabusa at first. Nicely done.

@oObeX:
ā€˜Zany Nostalgia’ is probably my favorite shot for this theme. Don’t if it’s the FX, map itself, or what it is, I love it all. :smiley:

@RECEPTOR:
I had a similar idea with that FX combo, but I didn’t really like the theme enough to carry it out. Either that or I’m lazy. :stuck_out_tongue:
Anyway, I like your shot. :slight_smile:

@Z6:
Alright, I’ll be honest here. On ā€œWorking the Cornersā€, you can’t really tell what map it is, therefore I don’t believe it necessarily fits the theme. (I know, like my shots are any better).
However, I will say I like your ā€˜Narrows’ one! You certainly captured the map on that one (plus, that color scheme… wink wink)

And, to cap this post off, I have some heat-of-the-moment shots from a recent community gamenight I had with a bunch of my Waypoint pals. I won’t post them all (they are only from a single game), but here’s one that pokes fun at weirdly rendered animations:

They told him he could be anything, so he became
The Human Speed Bump

So that’s all for now! The rest of the gamenight photos are under under my recent, so you can take a trek through there whenever. Other than that, I’ll see you guys later! :slight_smile:

Good Evening/Morning everyone!

@VinylLeader - ā€œTributesā€ is a Great shot! Action and color scheme, Well Done.

@ ComicBeast - I really like ā€œThe Human Speed Bumpā€ Great find, shot, title and really enjoyed the description. Thanks for the smile.
Your comments on my classic shots are appreciated. If I could go back, I would only post ā€œThe Narrows Engineeredā€. It would be nice if we had an ā€œundoā€ tag button. Maybe in 5…

My youngest started college (university) this week and their athletic mascot is a Golden Knight. I have been working on some ideas for awhile and these are what I came up with during a session this weekend:

ā€œSword Knightā€ Thanks for the ā€œLikesā€ :slight_smile:

ā€œKnight 'n Shiningā€

ā€œPaladinsā€

All on Harvest, Juicy and ColorBlind.

Have a Great week everyone! Looking forward to seeing your screenshots :slight_smile:

Thank you Z6NITRO! I’m happy you like the screenshot.

Hey ComicBeast1212, thank you so much for the compliments on my screenshot. I think it might be how the black and white FX brings out the finer details in the map. I wanted to make it easy on the eyes to ā€œdrawā€ from the map and its landmarks or call-outs marked by nostalgia. Anyway, I’m happy you love it! Thank you, again. :slight_smile:

(Sorry if I don’t type huge paragraphs like everyone else)
So i’ve got a few new screenshots up. I was trying to experiment with power ups (os, d boost, speed)
This is the first time i’ve tried to do something with those, and I would greatly apreciate any sort of feedback on them (negative, positive, or even just a like). Thanks in advance!

Welcome, welcome. :slight_smile:
It’s ok, long paragraphs aren’t necessary. So I checked the screenshots in your file-share and my favorite was ā€œSet Ablaze.ā€ I love the contrast between the warm-colored lights and the darkness of everything else. It’s really neat.
The pose is also quite nice. I like it. I know there’s supposedly some rule of photography that says that people should be looking toward the middle of the picture, but honestly I’ve always loved pictures where the subject is looking off to the sides. It just makes it seem much deeper. So you couple that deepness with your fine description and yeah you’ve got yourself a perfectly composed screenshot.

Great job buddy! Hope to see more. :smiley:

I think there’s a better chance that your posts might actually get read if you avoid huge paragraphs. No one wants to read huge essays all the time :slight_smile:

Great shots as well!

I have two screenshots of the truck I made on Slenderman’s Return, along with a fun fact that will really get people excited.

Truck in Slenderman’s Return

Back of Truck

I discovered that, for whatever reason, a hologram will become invisible while in the truck, but it will be visible once outside. Does anyone know the reason for this? I have a theory, but I would like to hear what everyone else says.

Here is what happens while spawning a hologram while under water:

Yeeeeah… I apologize. I don’t drop in enough. T-T

Well.
I checked the File Browser a few days ago. I saw the top shot. And before even clicking it, I said to myself, ā€˜However made that shot is flippin’ amazing at screenshots, and that is one of the most beautiful shots I’ve ever seen. '(Seriously).
It’s title was ā€˜Set Ablaze’.

That is an awesome shot. I hope to see more, keep up the good work! :smiley:

A good fact to know… now I can’t wait to be Slenderman! MUWHAHAHAHAHA…
I’ve used your Slendy gametype and map multiple times at my gamenights, and everybody really enjoys it!

As for the disappearing Hologram… you’d have to ask somebody like Lizking about that, he’s the one I’d ask about glitches and Forging.

Were cookies involved? :wink:

@VinyLeader-really like your map Slenderman, i have not played a game on it yet, but i have spent some theater time on the map, still working on the shot. The truck is awesome.

@Naxoni-ā€œSet Ablazeā€ is an excellent shot! It is my favorite of your power up shots, hope to see more of your experimenting.

Looks like at last we receive another decent theme! Time to brush the dust off and grind back to work.

And indeed, work has been done, as my latest shots have been erected. -Behold-, was a reference, merely done for the sake of its meaning… Nothing more, nothing less. Just speculated it had been composed better than I had assumed… Due to the fact that it was on longbow, a map that has been worn out by heavy overuse.

While I reject that first one, in a sense, I have with yet another addition. -Penumbra-. While I searched for a better understudy of its predecessor, I had noticed a peculiar and unnoticed position in the flood assassination that is merely viewed as such… Dynamic with the background as well, made for quite a lovely shot.

But that is that, both are now residing in my fileshare. Give 'em a skim whenever you can. :3

Keep up the good work.

@stealth4ce
Why thank you! I seem to have a habit of taking shots from the left side. I don’t know why, but I just think it looks nice.

@comicbeast1212
Oh, haha, I saw the tag ā€œcomic absolutely lovesā€, and I was wondering who it was. Thank you very much!

As for the new them i’ve already made one. Probably going to put up a few more. I actually made the last bulletin twice. I don’t know why, I thought the descriptions would’ve kept me out. Haha.

Congrats everybody! That one was tough. Fortunately, this week’s is simple enough. I got a couple. So far, these three are pretty much the same just framed or posed differently:

Heavenly Haven

The Recruit

White Out

(more of an off-white, but what are you gonna do?)

Hi MrMartini I like recruit probally the nicest one

Gongrats all who got there screenshot in the bulletin

@mrmartini85
I like the second one the best. However they’re really all the same thing, haha. Dropped a like.

Yeah, I’ll do that. Pick some armor, pick a map, edit it in Forge, take a few of essentially the same shot at different angles and poses, then repeat on new map.

So, as you can probably imagine, my screenshots folder in Halo 4 is flippin’ massive.

I can imagine. I used to do that, but I stopped because it’s harder to get feedback. As in the downloads and likes would be low on all instead of just having one with a high amount.
