> Prefect

Hehe it’s like you guys went to the same party and found out you were wearing the same shirt. :stuck_out_tongue:
Hey so… Can I just say that I love your color choice for the armor? Because I do. That teal and orange combo is just breathtaking to me. Something about the contrast just really makes it pop. I hope people give you a lot of compliments on that because… I’m totally selfish and whatever I like other people should like too, right? Hehe. But seriously, it looks nice.
That pose is always a good touch. It adds a lot of something to screenshots, and I don’t necessarily know what it is… But yeah you did well.

Hoping to see more soon!

Thank you, sir! I appreciate that.
So my favorite of your suppressor submissions would be “On Watch” because I love the sleekness of it. It just looks very clean. Black and white can be hard to pull off because sometimes it can make things either look overly dramatic or overly boring. You made it work perfectly, I think.
Your angle was top-notch. Not only did you fit in the elevator thingy, but you also got it lined up well enough in the sky to get those sun rays to filter in around the spartan. That makes it look so much fresher. And then on top of that you very clearly showed the suppressor and although I normally think it’s a weird looking gun- you make it look cool to me. The skin and the sprinting, mmm, good stuff.

Ok then on to “Rocket Men.” Dang. (Need more be said?) For matchmaking, this is a sweet picture. I love that you have the rocket in the picture. That’s very unique and shows a lot of creativity- even if it was just from an ordinary online game. Then the poses of the spartans just complete it. It’s tight! I love the ‘free-falling’ look and I especially like how one of them is disappearing behind the light. Great job. Seriously. Very, very good.

Hey all! So while I don’t have any new Halo 4 shots, I do have a few Reach shots. I know, I know, I’m rocking the boat. Haha. Anyway I’d appreciate if you’d take a look.

~Dystopian Rise~
Rainbow Infinity effect. I like it. (ps- I just found out how to do it on practically any map. Woohoo!)

~Crucible Internal~
I was thinking about my friend Derpylicious because we always used to play Reach together and take screenshots. So, then I got to thinking about an effect he’d used before on Powerhouse, and I decided to revisit it.

~Smoke and Mirrors~
Revisiting another old location of mine, just putting a new spin on it.

~Sequestered Reign~
Trying to take advantage of the turquoise-ish lighting effect on the monitor that you get in one room on the Condemned map. I’m not too interested in this one but it’s whatever.

Those look incredible.

Years of practice and experimentation. Haha.

@ Stealth4ce - Wow! Great shots  My favorites: “Smoke and Mirrors” (I think the black and white worked well with your shot) and “Sequestered Reign”(Very Nice)
Hope you rock the boat again soon.

Thank you for the kind words, it is appreciated. And on that note, I am jealous how well you express your thoughts on our screenshots, well done!

@Comicbeast - my favorites are “Forgotten” and I really like how “Eclipse” turned out. I like how the shot looks like you are looking through a scope and I think your amour colors work well with the background colors.

@MrMartini - my favorites are “Perfect” (really like your background choice) and “Suppressor 3” (I like how clean the planet turned out and the Blue tones)

Thanks everyone for posting in the forum

Hail and good afternoon all! I’m back once again with some in-depth feedback for you all with Screenshots later.

@ Comicbeast1212 - It’s great to see a new face/helmet amongst the Screenshot takers here, a belated welcome from me! Great stuff using the Juicy FX, if you ever want to have that vibrancy of colour, but want to keep the original colouring of armour/lighting etc, just add the Colorblind FX to the Map. I swear by that combination, as everyone else can attest to…

Forgotten’s a great piece with the pose and angle of the shot, along with the back story you made with it. One thing that partially takes away from it, along with a handful others is cutting out the weapon a touch in the Screenshot. In case you don’t know, if you want a close up of the Spartan plus his weapon not being cut, you can zoom in during Theater mode, like you would with a rifle in game.

With Dissassembly, it’s great to see someone use the reload animation for a Screenshot. The addition of the Juicy FX helps to light up the colours on the Suppressor really well and nice choice with the armour colours! Only thing that draws back once again is the cropping out of the weapon. Maybe trying to find a less busy background might be an idea too so the focus is solely on the Spartan and his weapon whilst reloading?

With Illumination, Stare Down and Predator, I have to say you managed to get a deliciously superb angle in Stare Down with the pose and direction of the Suppressor, only thing I think that could improve it is moving the Spartan across more to the middle of the shot so the focus is on him more than the background. I liked the use of the little fire inside the Suppressor’s barrel in Illumination, always works great and you made it work nicely with the Juicy FX once again.

With Eclipse, it’s been a while since I’ve seen someone use solace’s Sun as the background and you’ve posed and angled this one fantastically! The colours and pose of the Spartan are really unique and one-of a kind so well done! Definitely my favourite out of the lot!

You’re showing some marked improvement with every shot and I’m looking forwards to seeing what you come up with for this week’s theme when it is posted! Also, don’t worry about Spamming the file share, you haven’t done what I and others have made the mistake of, which is taking too many Screenshots in one Theater session and some get lost to Halo Waypoint and can only be accessed in your Xbox’s files…

Mr Martini Looks like all of us have gone down the Prefect + Forerunner weapon route at some point, I did the same last year, for the Prefect theme of Screenshots with Oncoming Legacy amongst others…

With Prefect and Suppressor 3, some lovely background detailing on Meltdown and Monolith (nice to see the FUD emblem too on the Prefect), The angle and pose is really nice along with the colour of armour and background pairing together and a cheeky little strip of light on Suppressor 3. As I said with Comicbeast1212, perhaps moving the Spartan a little closer or along to the left to present him as the focus on the Screenshot might help to take those two pieces up another level of awesome.

Prefect II though takes the cake for awesomeness out of the ones you’ve shared! Great position and angle along with the explosion’s lights and shields flaring up. That one deserves a lot more likes (including one from yourself as you can give yourself 1 a week apparently, useful for getting your screenshots noticed in the first week). What explosion happened there for you to get that light strips effect?

Part the second coming soon!

Part the second:

@ Z6 NITRO: - First of all, wow, wow, WOW! With Rocket Men! Matchmaking Screenshots rarely pop out but that one is just brilliant with the angles and position of the Spartans! Nice to see a return to Harvest too with your newest pieces! It’s inspired me to pop back in there and have a mess around, but more on that later, now this is your time.

On Watch with Colorblind and the return of your signature Stalker CRUSH helmet is a great combination along with the mid sprint and glancing pose of the Spartan. There seems to be some subtle shadowing courtesy of Harvest’s lighting too which adds some extra depth. The addition of one of the “Tiara” Space Tethers is a nice touch too to add to the piece and isn’t too large as to not draw the focus away from the Spartan. Nice one!

With Seeing Through the Void, I will admit now I’ve never been a fan of Pen and Ink, but you’ve pulled off a nice creation on Pitfall with your Spartan sticking out somehow in the Screenshot and not being lost to the light so well done my good man!

Glamour Shot, ahhhhh my old friends juicy and Colorblind combined! The colours and position is brilliant on this one with the focus on your Spartan. an interesting pose too with the Spartan at ease and standing there, looks a lot like the Recruit pose you get on your card in the Lobby!

@ Stealth4ce - It’s nice to see a little change up with some Reach Screenshots being posted and once again you’ve made some downright mouth-watering pieces! The armour choice along with the effects just match up so well with the ones featuring colour or are all desaturated. There’s little I can speak on here as your work simply does all the talking anyways. Sequestered Reign though is my fave from the bunch, with the colour and angling, well done and bravo good sir! Bravo!

@ lizking - My my, so many Screenshots and so little time! First of all I am super impressed that you’ve made some lovely pieces despite using raw Matchmaking footage and even using Red Team’s armour colour, which I personally despise to use and play in for its colour.

Out of the ones you submitted, my top few on the matchmaking side have to be Red Team and Evac? Run!. With Red Team, the position of all four of the Spartans as they sprint in perfect formation beneath on of Adrift’s gantries is brilliant and the colour isn’t too desaturated or pale, so well done there! It tells a nice story as Red Team move out for victory!

With Evac? Run!, the angling of your Spartan with the Gravity Hammer and the TV screens behind is superb! The orange screens adds a nice contrast to the Spartan and his weapon. The only thing I think it needs to pop out even more is to zoom out a touch in the background and have the outer screens fully fit into the piece. Well done!

Now onto Space Trucking…holy Forerunner Installations on a bicycle!!! How did you achieve that straight up launch of the Ghost?! The contrails trailing the Ghost is a lovely addition the the expansive void behind and is one of those special Screenshots where the background’s largeness to the Spartan is really well made!

(PS: That Mantis is still on a dosage of Morphine after that Gravity Hammer strike. Poor Mantis…)

+++++++++

All in all, well done everyone on some fantastic pieces that have given me many a smile at seeing them. That’s all form me for now, so if I missed anyone’s stuff, my sincerest apologies, I got a little lost at sea with everyone’s submissions.

I’ll be posting my own creations soon tonight on the suppressor theme, and also playing around on Harvest with Colorblind and Olde Timey. If you want a quck sneak peek, check out my Recent Screenshots to see 'em.

Until next time!

17 out

Good morning everybody.

I am glad to see this thread suddenly become very active in the last several days :). This is great! Let me see, there are new screenshots from other photographers to discuss, as well as some feedback to answer.

So to start, with RECEPTOR17, I am glad you liked my photos, which with the exception of ‘Space Trucking I’ were all from matchmaking. ‘Red Team’ was just an image I scrolled by that I gave a second thought to take. That was from the Fourth of July variant of Team Regicide and oddly enough, we did win that game  .

‘Evac? Run!’ was actually inspired by one of your past photos ‘Evac Order’ This seemed a bit more humorous than your variant, which had more of a serious feel to it, so hence the name, lol.

‘Space Trucking I’ was created with a teleporter glitch Cizlin and I accidentally found while messing around on Kicking Mantis V 1.1 in forge. We simply placed two teleporters, and thrusted through with a Ghost. For additional emphasis, a Trait Zone was added for the Speed Boost FX. Perhaps when you have a bit of free time, I can show you. The photo you see is the end result of the glitch, so yes, Cizlin and I breaking things again, lol, even if it isn’t intentional. Woo-hoo! We need cookies and Cherry AMP Energy, lol.

As for the Mantis, it’s probably going to need that for hitting it’s head off the bridge as well, lol. I did destroy it though with the gravity hammer and earned the kill, even though the explosion of the Mantis took me out, lol.

Now onto discussion of other people’s acreenshots. Z6NITRO, very awesome matchmaking screenshot when it comes to ‘Rocket Men’, and it really isn’t that often when a screenshot from matchmaking comes together this well. Very lucky and thank you for sharing that photo. You also did an amazing job showing off your preferred armor in Glamour Shot, and On Watch is really amazing for a Pen and Ink photo. Feels a bit gloomy, but has a lot of nice elements to it with to make it feel as if your Spartan-IV is ‘On Watch’. Well done with your photos  .

ComicBeast1212, very comedic reply to the positive input on using the Nova FX efficently, lol. Now with your photos, are you sure you don’t know what you are doing? You seem to be capturing some very amazing FX in each of your photos, and combined with a bit of humor in some of them for the win. Your Solace screenshots are very nice and I never took notice on how vibrant the Cyan visor is on that map with the Juicy FX before. My favorite of the photos is ‘Forgotten’. I feel you captured the feel you were looking for in this photo with the colorblind and Next Gen FXs in combination with your Spartan-IV looking down a bit as if he was forgotten. Well done with your photos  .

As for the gravity weapon being my prefered weapon Comic, it is. I just wish it sounded like rolling thunder as it did in the previous games. Still fun to use, lol.

MrMartini85, you have some very nice Prefect themed photos here. I know they are supposed to be geared toward the supressor, which they are, but you also did a great job with the color scheme in both photos drawing attention to the armor. Nevertheless, you did a fantastic job with your photos, great job  .

Stealth4ce, very interesting photos from Halo: Reach. I can be honest that I never experimented with FX much in Halo: Reach, because I was having fun with the game at the time with local friends. Still though, very unique FX in each photo. ‘-Dystopian Rise-’ is my favorite of the batch as it has a sand emboss feeling to it. As sandlike as it might feel, it is truely an awesome photo. Well done with your photos  .

I have three photos for the Supressor theme to share with everybody, and I hope people enjoy them:

Distortion-Silver
Distortion-Gold
Hunting Party

I used the metal sphere idea I found on Pitfall awhile ago for both Distortion photos, as I have yet to see anybody else utilize this. Hunting Party is supposed to show two Prefect Spartan-IVs, one librarian themed color, and one Didact themed color on the hunt for something. I’ll leave that interpretation upto you. The color theme is even reflected with the Supressors  .

That is everything I have for now, so have a great day now, and keep them awesome screenshots coming  .

> Ok … ComicBeast, I swear I took these before I saw “Forgotten” … it’s a Forerunner armor-wearing Spartan using a Forerunner weapon in a Forerunner structure
> snip

A likely story… =.=

Nah, I’m funning with ya. Great minds think alike, I guess. :stuck_out_tongue:
Out of the three you just introduced, my top pic goes to the first Perfect, though all of them have things to love.
‘Suppressor 3’ does a nice job of capture the beautiful skybox of Monolith. And stealth4ce is right, that color combo is brilliant.

> double snip
> Triple Snip
> OVERSNIP

Oh man… oh man… I’m putting this post in a separate document or something, thank you so much for the feedback and great screenshotting tips. I you’ll believe, this is the first screenshot theme where I’m using free camera mode, so… yeah. Yep, all those other shots before this week were sheer luck with positioning and view-swapping in Theater. :stuck_out_tongue:
I’ll keep that in mind about cropping… I’m taking all the help I can get! Thanks again!

> SNIPTACULAR
> SNIPTROCITY!
> SNIPOCALYSPE!!!

Thanks for such positive feedback! Yeah, I’m still learning the ropes, like I said to 17, this my first week to using the free camera mode, seeing how I just learning how to use it… :stuck_out_tongue:

Now your shots… wow man. The ‘Distortion’ duo of pics are amazing. Well done, they are simply marvelous. Phew… I can’t decide which is my favorite! They both are!

Oh, and what are Perfect-clad soldiers always hunting for? Nods towards Cizlin
Cookies, of course!

And I noticed something in your screenshots… you misspelled ‘Suppressor!’
Wanting to have your submissions in the right place for the theme, I tagged them again for you so they wouldn’t be missed by Brav.

Now why didn’t I discover this sooner?

I’ve only got a few shots in my file share…

Champion
Deliverance
Into Eternity

Hope ya’ll like 'em!

Lots of recent activity by the community photographers.

I would like to post some screenshots here for the suppressor spotlight. I hope it’s not too late. The suppressor was fun to use. I look forward to Bravo’s next choice of theme.

Crimson

Crimson Shot

A Leap Of Faith

Beaming Daylight

I hope you all like the screenshots above. Good luck to everyone. I hope to see more of the unique and creative screenshots.

Comic’s eye begins to twitch

He reloads the page twice to make sure he’s seeing the bulletin correctly

His mouth drops open in shock

OH MY GOD I GOT A TWO-FER!!!

Ahem
Uh… yeah… clears throat

Congrats to everybody else who landed their shots in the bulletin for the Suppressor theme! There were some really great pics that came out, and enjoy seeing every one of them!

@Xindus:
They my be only three, but you’ve just expectation bar up high! Great job, all three are beautiful! I like how the lightning bolts seem attracted to the Spartan, and that pose is just cool to begin with. ‘Into Eternity’ is… phew, man, that is beyond great. The background, the ghostly-looking Spartan that fits in so well… That shot is one of my favorite Halo 4 screenshots of all time, no joke. I can’t say enough about…

@Obex:
Congrats on having ‘Crimson’ make it into the bulletin! That was my favorite of your bunch. Whatever you did with the visor… brilliant!
But, ‘Beaming Daylight’ was right up there too.

Oh boy, looks like we’re goning to be doing some landscaping, eh? Alright… this one is going to be tough for me. I don’t have any ideas for it, not even a little hunch, and I’m going to be gone Friday-Tuesday.
Well, I’ll see what I get, and until next time,

Comic out.

Ok. Landscapes … I have so many … can’t even think of how to take new ones … do they use old shots? Ones that were uploaded months ago so long as I tag them “landscape”? Cause I got some nice ones.

For instance, this one is inspired by Caspar David Friedrich:
I never named it :frowning:

And finally,
EVA

@oObeX: “Crimson” looks like damn promo art! Masterfully done. That visor!

@Xindus: You hope we like them? Those shots are great. You know what you’re doing. Don’t be so modest!

@ComicBeast1212: A 2-fer! Congrats! Now you don’t have to be modest either (I’ve had two 2-fers, that’s why I’m such a jerk. lol.)

@Z6Nitro: love the winning shot … makes me think maybe the Spartan is over-seeing an evacuation off a colony planet…like on “Harvest” or in “Forward Unto Dawn”; civilians racing for the elevator to get the hell off the planet as the Covenant is invading. Kinda makes me wish I had gotten the “Harvest” map.

[This actually makes me wonder … when the MCC is released, they’re still obviously going to be doing these spotlights, but how will it work? Will they support screenshots from H4 360 and H4 Xbox One? Will they include Halo 3? Will the themes be cross-game!!! So many questions.]

> @Obex:
> Congrats on having ‘Crimson’ make it into the bulletin! That was my favorite of your bunch. Whatever you did with the visor… brilliant!
> But, ‘Beaming Daylight’ was right up there too.

> @oObeX: “Crimson” looks like damn promo art! Masterfully done. That visor!

Thanks Comic and MrMartini! I’m happy to see the compliments for Crimson. That screenshot was made by Draxsonia. I love how vivid and defined the character is.

Next week’s spotlight is on landscape. There are lots of multiplayer maps with pretty scenery. It will be interesting to see if anyone adds any objects or fx to their landscape screenshots.

> @ComicBeast1212: A 2-fer! Congrats! Now you don’t have to be modest either (I’ve had two 2-fers, that’s why I’m such a jerk. lol.)

Just wait til you join the “Triple-Time” club, we’re even worse. :stuck_out_tongue:

Congrats on the double-feature ComicBeast1212! Well done to everyone else who got featured too! Now onto Landscapes, a theme I love outside of the game so I’m gonna enjoy making pieces for this one.

Greetings Spartans, today we are delving deep into an abandoned mining facility to try and excavate a gem of a screenshot!
All puns aside, I’m not too sure about these.

I’m back to having no clue what we’re doing.
Landscapes? Can we alter it FX? Can we have our Spartans in the shot, or is the theme only focusing on landscapes, nothing else?! I SO CONFUZZLED.

So, here’s four shots I jumbled together today on Shatter, focusing on it’s acidic volcano. They aren’t much, and I’m not too proud of them. :\

Volcanic
Shatter’s acid volcano at it’s finest. No FX, no Spartan, no nothing.
Eruption
Pretty much the previous shot, with a few bonuses. My Spartan is included, it’s a different angle (I think), and I managed to capture the lightning bolts that are up in the billowing ash cloud. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hothead
Not much of postioning or skill, but more on humor. I like how the steam from the overheating Splaser looks like it’s coming from my Spartan’s head (hence the name). The volcano got centered in there by some fluke as well.

Disaster Strikes
Getting sick of that volcano yet? I like this one (and is the only I let myself be moderately proud of) because of the pose I managed to grab.
At least, IMO, it looks my Spartan is turning around and getting ready to run the hell away from the massive volcanic threat that’s right behind him.
But I’ll leave what my Spartan looks like up to you.

Like I said, nothing much. For rocking the Suppressor theme, Bravo’s certainly got me stumped here. I’d probably try more and deliver better shots if I had only the time. I’m leaving on vacation for most of this week, not returning until Tuesday, so these are probably the only shots for this theme you’ll see from me.

To everyone else, best of luck, continue screenshotting, and I’ll talk to you guys next week!

> Comic’s eye begins to twitch

>
> His mouth drops open in shock

Congrats! Congrats!
I just noticed… you seem to be missing the ‘Photographer’ medal.

Hey hey, loved the Supressor shots, pretty nice this time.

Speaking of which, I like the new them, something much better than a constricted theme, and very fresh… I’ve uploaded my shots, been experimenting with other, non-overused maps, and did find quite a nice portion of the vertigo parallax that looked lovely. Hence my latest shots; “Searching…” And “Conquer Our Fears…”

Another thing I noticed is that most shots are just a person with a weapon… Completely out of the blue… And almost always a weapon… But I’ve tried to make it more like a page from a story and make it more …human.

Where is everybody finding out about the theme. I’ve been trying to figure it out, but I’m having no luck.
